Position Summary: The Microbiologist is responsible for… Duties and Responsibilities: It is everyone's responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress. * Microbiological efficacy testing of cleaning products via execution of client protocols, using both routine practices and client-specific methodology * Microbiological techniques: diluting, plating, counting colonies, culturing (via a variety of media and preparations), plate pouring, plate streaking * Identification of organisms through routine means (gram staining) and identification via mass spectrometry (MSID) * Completion of daily test assignments * Completion of daily tasks and side work (test prep, data collection, input of data to ELN) * Order media and maintain inventory as needed * Maintain schedule and ensure completeness of organism prep * Escalation of troubleshooting needs and instrumentation issues to the client * Completion of lab work in the expected timeframe, as defined by the client * Recording data (Electronic lab notebook system); and peer review of others' ELN entries daily. * Lab maintenance as necessary: lab deep cleans, media ordering, making stock solutions, stocking of consumable materials, proper storage of research materials, and organization of lab reagents * Daily calibrations of instrumentation as needed; logbook entries, reporting out-of-spec instrumentation to client sponsor * Utilizing safe waste disposal practices in accordance with site regulations and waste vendor. Skills & Proficiencies: * BS in a Scientific degree field; Degree in Microbiology preferred * Chemistry, Microbiology, and/or Molecular Biology experience a plus * Ability to work independently on multiple research projects * Capability to generate specific SOP's * Data management and data analysis experience * Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving * Familiarity with tenets of the microbiology skillset described above * Open communication regarding status of samples, experiments, and instrumentation, with other team members and the client * Ability and interest to work in a highly supervised environment, to complete experimentation and meet client needs. * Familiarity learning basic computer software (may be instrument-related); familiarity with Microsoft Excel Education and Experience: * Bachelor's in Scientific degree field; Microbiology preferred * 1+ year(s) of experience with Microbiology lab preferred An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above. The Sample Log-In Technician is responsible for sample log-in utilizing the Laboratory Information System. These technicians will also participate in shipping and receiving samples, and at times learn and perform basic fuels testing. The role is generally part-time, but very critical to the operation of the laboratory. There is the possibility of full-time employment in the future upon graduation or skills developed based on the needs of the company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES include the following. Position Summary: The Lab Analyst - Microbiology is primarily responsible supporting lab maintenance and for completing environmental swabbing for microbiology work at the client site. Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform environmental swabbing/sampling of the production area for downstream microbiological measurement, using prescribed testing methods appropriate to the sample. Finally, in the Sample Control department, you will receive samples and log them into our LIMS following the CoC. You will prepare sample kits and transfer samples throughout the whole laboratory. Beyond these departments there are potential roles in VOA prep, TCLP and WeighRoom.
