Further, the company provides laboratory testing, product development, material selection, slitting and die cutting, autoclave curing, bar well extruding, calendaring, and mixing services. It serves oil drilling, aerospace, agriculture, sports equipment, automotive, and construction industries, as well as armed forces. Burke Industries, Inc. was formerly known as The Burke Rubber Company and changed its name to Burke Industries, Inc. in 1972. The company was founded in 1942 and is headquartered in San Jose, California. As of June 26, 2008, Burke Industries, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Mannington Mills, Inc.
