Burlington Feeders is seeking a full-time Welder to join our Yard Repair & Maintenance team. This position plays a key role in supporting the upkeep and functionality of the feedyard by welding and fabricating critical infrastructure such as bunks, fence rails, and gates. In addition to welding duties, this role assists with concrete work and general feedyard maintenance projects, helping ensure the operation runs smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities:
Operate welding and fabrication equipment to repair or build feedyard infrastructure
Weld and repair feed bunks, steel fence rails, gates, and structural components
Assist in concrete construction and repair projects as needed
Use cutting torches, grinders, and other shop tools safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop work area
Follow all Cactus Feeders operating procedures and OSHA safety standards
Work alongside the maintenance crew to support other skilled trades and complete assigned tasks
Perform inspections and routine maintenance on tools and equipment
Complete additional duties as assigned by the Yard R&M Supervisor
Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or completion of a Technical/Trade School certification (preferred but not required)
1-2 years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience required (MIG, stick welding, and cutting torch experience preferred)
Basic understanding of metalwork, construction, and concrete repair techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or written instructions
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Able to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
Comfortable working in elevated areas and exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, dust, wind, etc.)
Able to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, and stand for extended periods
Dependable with a strong work ethic and regular, on-time attendance
Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
