Typical assignments include:

There are no education substitutions for the GL-9 or GS-11 grade-level Border Patrol Agent opportunities.
Other Requirements:
Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.

Age Restriction: In accordance with Public Law 100-238, this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions. Formal Training: After you are hired, you will be detailed to the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico, for approximately six (6) months of intensive instruction in immigration and nationality laws, law enforcement, and USBP-specific operations, driver training, physical techniques, firearms, and other courses. Border Patrol work requires the ability to speak and read Spanish, as well as English. Border Patrol Agents will be provided training to become proficient in the Spanish language at the Academy.

Troubleshoot mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement long-term fixes
Conduct equipment inspections, lubrication, alignments, and component replacements
Plant Support & Operations
Support day-to-day plant operations to ensure safe and reliable RNG production
Respond to mechanical alarms, breakdowns, and emergency call-outs as required
Assist during plant start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities
Safety, Compliance & Documentation
Work in full compliance with OSHA, site safety policies, and environmental regulations
Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports using CMMS systems
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices
Support reliability initiatives and spare parts management
Collaborate with third-party contractors and OEMs during maintenance activities
Required Experience & Qualifications
3+ years' experience in a mechanical maintenance role within:
RNG / biogas
Wastewater treatment
Industrial processing
Strong hands-on experience with rotating equipment and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals
Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work on-site and participate in an on-call or shift rotation if required
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience working at anaerobic digestion or gas upgrading facilities
Knowledge of compressors, blowers, vacuum systems, and gas handling equipment
Exposure to confined space entry, LOTO, and permit-to-work systems
Basic understanding of electrical or instrumentation systems (advantageous)
