The Assistant Electrical Engineer (or Energy & Utilities Analyst) will work under the supervision of a consultant or project manager to assist with developing solutions to technical and economic challenges encountered by our energy and utility clients. Minimum Qualifications / Experience A minimum of five years experience in physical substation design, or related experience, is required. An Associate's degree in drafting & design is preferred. Successful candidates with more than five years of experience may be placed in more senior level designer titles depending on skill. Strong knowledge of the major components of substations and the types of drawings required to construct an electrical substation. Strong knowledge and proven experience creating the bill of materials as it relates to a substation. Strong knowledge physical substation layout, elevations, grounding, foundations, and conduit Ability to produce steel drawings is a plus. General knowledge of control circuits and ground grid theory & design Extensive knowledge of CADD programs such as AutoCAD Strong knowledge of civil/structural codes and standards (NESC, and applicable IEEE, ANSI, AISC, and ACI) is a plus. This position is responsible for providing direct project management for the Substation Engineering team located in the North Texas Region.
