Key Contributions

The Essentials

The successful candidate will be familiar with all firm litigation and business support software, including its capabilities, capacities, strengths, and operation requirements, and will assist firm personnel in the evaluation, training, and use of such software. He/she will assist attorneys with the use of litigation software, e-discovery, document productions, trial preparation, etc., and will bill clients for appropriate time.
MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS

* Discuss case-specific needs and use of software program(s) with attorney(s) and client(s).
* Determine which software suits case needs, considering programs that link document indices and metadata with native ESI, images, and searchable text, along with deposition testimony.
* Develop case-specific database(s) to facilitate the retrieval of documents and testimony, and in preparation for document productions, depositions, and trial.
* Work with outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to identify documents uniformly through use of Bates labels or other means.
* Review documents and data to prepare instructions for processing, data conversion, and load files needed for the selected database solution.
* Work with outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to have documents scanned ("OCR'd"), for full-text transfer and review within software program, and/or imaged for review within software environment.
* Work with ESI outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to have electronic data collected, processed, and loaded into a database platform in preparation for review, production, depositions, and trial.
* Work with ESI outside vendors and attorneys to determine case needs and implementation of analytic and (TAR) technology assisted review tools to assist in review and production of large volumes of electronic data.
* Conduct automated searches in various database platforms to prepare for document productions, depositions, hearings, and trial.
* Manage document review projects by working with a team of vendors, attorneys, and paralegals to review documents in a database platform in preparation for production, and coordinate the preparation of documents to be produced in accordance with discovery deadlines and format requirements.
* Assist with the development of computer-generated graphics, demonstrative evidence, and presentations.
* Assist with the development of case- or client-specific extranets.
* Assist attorneys and paralegals in creating and developing case- or client-specific databases.
* Assist attorneys and paralegals in setting up war rooms for trial, imaging, overhead, etc.
* Assist attorneys in business and trial presentations.
* Based upon needs of all personnel, create training manuals for each software program used.
* Prepare and conduct computer training sessions for attorneys and paralegals.
* Advise on the purchase and maintenance of litigation support software.
* Work with programmers to revise software.
* Maintain documentation/information about hardware/software uses and available technology; attend continuing education programs about available and future technology.
* Work independently and collaboratively with the team.

THE ESSENTIALS

* Experience with litigation support database software platforms (preferably with Relativity; experience with CaseMap, Trial Director, and Summation also will be helpful).
* A high school education or equivalent is required.

The firm is currently hiring for a Legal Administrator in our Atlanta office with responsibility for the daily administration and management of office operations. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

* Supervising and managing legal support staff including work assignments, performance management, training, and professional development.

* Facilities management including space planning and design, purchasing, inventory control, records storage, reception/switchboard services, and other facilities management functions.

* Recruiting, hiring and onboarding of legal staff.

* Purchasing, contracting and maintenance of office equipment and facilities.

* Daily administration and management of office operations.

* Interacting with a variety of vendors including landlord, suppliers, and contractors.

* Developing and administering the local office budget.

* Maintaining office work flow, planning, and controls and problem-solving when necessary.

* Providing support and execution for local recruiting, business development, and various office events and initiatives.

* Serving as primary liaison and interfacing with various departments and other office locations on work flow and internal and external inquiries.

THE ESSENTIALS

* A bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field, from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

* Three or more years of progressive management experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.

* Ability to engage attorneys, staff and management, demonstrating confidentiality, strength, tact, diplomacy and resourcefulness.

* Exceptional ability to communicate with varied audiences both in writing and verbally.

* Ability to work independently and with a team, and to delegate and manage resources effectively.

* Interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships and drive consensus; evidenced ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, attorneys and team members.

* Superb organizational and project management skills, coupled with a strong attention to detail.

* Outstanding analytical skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision, and logic with comprehensive knowledge of complex business principles and practices in order to conduct detailed analyses of business operations.

* Exhibit high degree of initiative and critical-thinking skills in exercising independent judgment and making decisions in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment.

* Ability to function in stressful situations and think strategically and analytically to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.

Litigation Support Specialist

The successful candidate will be familiar with all firm litigation and business support software, including its capabilities, capacities, strengths, and operation requirements, and will assist firm personnel in the evaluation, training, and use of such software. He/she will assist attorneys with the use of litigation software, e-discovery, document productions, trial preparation, etc., and will bill clients for appropriate time.
MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS

* Discuss case-specific needs and use of software program(s) with attorney(s) and client(s).
* Determine which software suits case needs, considering programs that link document indices and metadata with native ESI, images, and searchable text, along with deposition testimony.
* Develop case-specific database(s) to facilitate the retrieval of documents and testimony, and in preparation for document productions, depositions, and trial.
* Work with outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to identify documents uniformly through use of Bates labels or other means.
* Review documents and data to prepare instructions for processing, data conversion, and load files needed for the selected database solution.
* Work with outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to have documents scanned ("OCR'd"), for full-text transfer and review within software program, and/or imaged for review within software environment.
* Work with ESI outside vendors (or in-house personnel) to have electronic data collected, processed, and loaded into a database platform in preparation for review, production, depositions, and trial.
* Work with ESI outside vendors and attorneys to determine case needs and implementation of analytic and (TAR) technology assisted review tools to assist in review and production of large volumes of electronic data.
* Conduct automated searches in various database platforms to prepare for document productions, depositions, hearings, and trial.
* Manage document review projects by working with a team of vendors, attorneys, and paralegals to review documents in a database platform in preparation for production, and coordinate the preparation of documents to be produced in accordance with discovery deadlines and format requirements.
* Assist with the development of computer-generated graphics, demonstrative evidence, and presentations.
* Assist with the development of case- or client-specific extranets.
* Assist attorneys and paralegals in creating and developing case- or client-specific databases.
* Assist attorneys and paralegals in setting up war rooms for trial, imaging, overhead, etc.
* Assist attorneys in business and trial presentations.
* Based upon needs of all personnel, create training manuals for each software program used.
* Prepare and conduct computer training sessions for attorneys and paralegals.
* Advise on the purchase and maintenance of litigation support software.
* Work with programmers to revise software.
* Maintain documentation/information about hardware/software uses and available technology; attend continuing education programs about available and future technology.
* Work independently and collaboratively with the team.

THE ESSENTIALS

* Experience with litigation support database software platforms (preferably with Relativity; experience with CaseMap, Trial Director, and Summation also will be helpful).
* A high school education or equivalent is required.
* Paralegal or litigation experience is preferred.
