The Dental Assistant performs those duties which assist the dental director, dentists, and hygienists in the care and treatment of patients. Performs duties in the field of reception, chairside assisting, inventory and records Essential Job Functions:
* Assists the dentists and hygienists in chairside procedures routinely done in a general dental practice.
* Preparation and setting up of instruments, materials, and equipment.
* Orders and maintains supplies and inventory.
* Accurately records information on patient records.
* Attends to the needs of patients with the utmost patience, care, compassion and understanding.
* Is responsible for preparation and setting up of instruments, materials, and equipment necessary for each procedure;
* Is responsible for the sterilization of instruments, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment and work areas;
* Helps to identify related medical and/or social problems, orders supplies and materials;
* Maintains inventory of supplies and materials as well as maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of inventory.
* Responsible for completing the task of a Dental Assistant as outlined by the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Board, and the National Network of Oral Health Access.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
