Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or a related human services field; OR * Bachelor's degree in any field with two years of related behavioral health experience; OR * Any four-year combination of higher education and two years of qualifying experience; OR * Associate's degree in applied science in behavioral health support; OR * Four years of full-time qualifying experience in the field. * Qualifying experience includes providing individual or group services focused on recovery/resiliency, teaching coping skills, supporting functioning in school/community/employment settings, and implementing treatment plan objectives. * For positions serving Illinois: Additional qualifications per IL Administrative Code apply, including meeting Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) definitions and completing required IDHS DMH trainings. Additional Qualifications: * Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check. * Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance. Successful candidate must understand recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation, and harm reduction, principles, and adhere to Rule 2060.Will work as a part of an integrated primary and community health outreach team to implement CCHC's intensive community engagement services. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Use an integrated approach as a part of a care team Use evidence-based tools and other standards of care (e.g., Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), CAGE, DAST, AUDIT etc. Provide case management services to patients with mental health disorders to support addiction treatment, including coordination with specialty providers, recovery homes, inpatient treatment and community based providers, that will provide care via referral agreement for severe/complex cases, if applicable. Provide integrated case management services to patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders to support treatment, including coordination with specialty providers that will provide care via referral agreement for severe/complex cases, if applicable. Enhance education for patients, families, communities, and personnel to support patient engagement and self-management that includes medical conditions that often co-occur with mental health and substance use disorders (e.g., diabetes mellitus, heart failure, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, hypertension, obesity). Collaborate with existing community resources to address environmental factors that impact the onset or recurrence of substance use disorders, with a focus on opioid use disorders Administer psychosocial screenings. Provide support and motivational interviewing to clients addressing behavioral and/or psychosocial issues in keeping with best practice standards. Provide case management, and outreach services in the home, service providers, inpatient treatment support and office setting Completes screenings, intakes, case management and scheduling and referrals Ensure that all recording and reporting of client contact is accurate, up to date and of good quality, working within the PCMH/JCAHO accrediting standards. Provides alcohol/DUI, mental health, primary care and related service referrals and coordination as needed. The Intervention Specialist thinks outside the box to generate ideas/strategies to equip counselors to develop and promote positive behaviors and choices within campers, successful transitions, effective sensory solutions, and maximum participation in camp life. We strongly believe that success looks different for everyone, and the Intervention Specialist will work with campers and counselors to define, work towards, and celebrate their own strengths, successes, and growth. The Intervention Specialist is passionate and committed to upholding Timber Pointe's leadership standards by providing training, supervision, coaching and support while acting as a beacon of compassion and empathy within our camp community. Physical Requirements Due to the fast-paced schedule, stimulating sensory experience of large-group living and dining, and emotionally/physically demanding role of a staff member, all team members must have the physical, cognitive, and mental ability, as well as strength and endurance to perform all job functions and expectations listed. Additional physical requirements include: Ability to independently navigate, participate in and provide supervision to active/outdoor activities spread out over Timber Pointe's 170-acre facility, which may include without limitation walking long distances, running, paddling, crouching, reaching, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds or more. Emotional and physical stamina to engage with a community of campers and staff for 12 weeks joyfully and enthusiastically in a summer camp environment. Work Environment Outdoor camp environment with exposure to all types of weather and conditions, including extreme heat, cold, snow, rain, and specific environmental realities (humidity, wind, bugs, lake water, etc.) Reside in camp cabins in a bunkbed with limited privacy and infrequent, minimal access to technology (internet, cell phone, etc.). *Prior to applying to Timber Pointe Outdoor Center's 2026 Summer Team, please be prepared to commit to providing the safest camp environment possible. As a camp that serves immunocompromised populations, 2026 Summer Team members will be expected to practice intentional communicable illness (COVID-19, etc.) safety throughout the entirety of their summer agreement. Staff will be tested if they exhibit symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or if there is any known exposure within the camp community, and additional testing protocols may be implemented as needed. Masks may be required during periods of exposure, outbreak, or high community transmission levels, and they may also be required during close-contact tasks such as providing personal care to campers.
