The story of Burris Foods began in 1925 when Edward F. Burris and his son, John W. Burris, started Burris Express.
John E. Burris (Jack) took over the management of Burris Food Distributors, and during the late ’40s and the 1950’s oversaw its entry into the then fledgling frozen food business.
In the early 1960’s, Jack Burris was head of the Delmarva Poultry Industry.
