Under the direction of the Complex Superintendent, this position performs highly complex (senior-level) park/historic site management work. Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operations, management, leadership, preservation, interpretation, maintenance and safety of Lake Somerville State Park, Birch Creek Unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: cultural and natural resource management, revenue management, budget planning, preparation and monitoring, human resources management, security and safety programs, management of maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds and equipment, public relations, marketing and promotion, interpretation and education, special events, community outreach, volunteer development, and coordination of partnerships. Responds to on-call and emergency situations. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
NOTE: Salary range is limited to commissioned officers in the park management track prior to 9/1/2020. State Park Law Enforcement career ladder eligibility requirements must be met to advance from the base rate-of-pay.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
TJJD addresses the multiple and complex needs of the youth committed to the agency as well as their families through a trauma informed multidisciplinary integrated approach that includes implementation of the agency approved Texas Model and a Mental Health Treatment Program (MHTP). The MHTP provides enhanced psychiatric and psychological assistance to youth who have been diagnosed with moderate to severe mental health problems and/or illnesses, which allows the general rehabilitation case managers to focus on risk reduction and protective factor enhancement strategies in order to reduce the risk of reoffending. This collaboration allows for holistic and individualized treatment of youth in need of MHTP services.
Performs entry-level psychological work. Work involves assisting in planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring specialized treatment programs. Assists in meeting program goals and objectives; and provides Mental Health Services to youth. Implements and adheres to program standards; and fiscal, personnel, and legal policies.
Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per work week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilitates treatment groups.
Participates in Youth Service Team Meetings.
Participates in implementation of behavior interventions and treatment plans.
Assists in administering, scoring, analyzing, results of non-projective and performance tests.
Assists in performing diagnostic and treatment functions.
May assist with psychological research projects and program evaluations.
May assist assigned therapist with family involvement.
Performs all duties in compliance with agency safety policies and procedures:
Reports safety hazards and corrects hazards when possible.
Completes required documentation in the event of an accident/injury within requested timeframes.
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency attendance and leave policies.

Bachelor's degree with major course work in psychology or a related field.
Experience and Education Substitutions:
One year of appropriate experience may substitute for one year of college (30 course hours) on a year for year basis.
Completed course hours of undergraduate study may substitute for up to four years of experience on a basis of 30 course hours for one year of experience.
Pro-rated part-time experience may satisfy the experience requirement.

From May 2026 to August 2026 the Program Staff holds the primary responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of activities and programs. They are expected to help create and maintain a professional environment where the Camp For All mission is carried out through high-quality programs.?
Reports To
Summer Adventure Program Staff reports to Program Supervisors.
Employment Type
This is a seasonal, non-exempt role.
Responsibilities
Obtains or successfully completes required lifeguard and/or high ropes training (before camp or during staff training)
Participates fully in lifeguard and/or high ropes in-service trainings throughout the summer season
Participates in staff orientation and training for Camp For All programs
Obtains required CPR training
Exhibits the ability to manage an assigned program activity, including planning and adapting the activity to the camper's special needs
Work with Program Supervisors to maintain and upkeep program activity areas. Demonstrates the desire to learn, understand and adapt to the needs of the individual camper
Follows all safety standards set by Camp For All and the Program Manager in accordance with Texas Department of Health and American Camping Association
Immediately corrects any safety infractions and/or reports such to supervisor
Displays the ability and desire to work as a “team” with the program management team as well as other program staff
Manages free time in a responsible manner so as to be fully prepared for each Partner group
Follows a variety of instructions, procedure manuals and safety rules
Maintains flexible work schedule with the ability to work extended hours as needed.
