Primary Job Responsibilities
Rowland Hall seeks a bus driver to safely transport students to and from designated locations during the 2025-26 school year. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience:

Drivers ensure student safety while loading, riding, and unloading; conduct routine bus inspections; and follow all traffic laws and school policies. They play an important role in supporting our school community by being dependable, safety-minded, and professional.
Schedule:
~20 hours per week during the school year with possible opportunities for additional hours during the summer.
Responsibilities:
Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and athletic events
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and compliance with state/federal regulations
Keep the bus clean, orderly, and in good working condition
Load and unload students safely, including those with special needs or equipment
Monitor student behavior and maintain discipline consistent with school policies
Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, parents, and school staff
Assist students in emergencies, provide basic first aid if needed, and ensure safe evacuation procedures are followed
Participate in required training, meetings, and annual inspections
Maintain accurate records (mileage, time logs, inspections, etc.) as required by school and state guidelines
Support Providence Hall's mission by serving as a positive role model for students
Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, parents, and school staff
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED
Clean driving record; subject to background check and drug screening
Required to inspect buses and complete safety/maintenance checks
Previous driving experience preferred
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist students in emergencies
Valid CDL with school bus endorsement (or ability to obtain)

Provide medical transportation for older adults and disabled adults living in Tooele County. Transportation will include trips to Salt Lake City and areas in Tooele County.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the direct supervision of the Tooele County Mobility Manager.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Perform vehicle maintenance such as checking oil, gas, tires, batteries, all fluid levels, and clean the windshield to ensure vehicle safety.
Drive passengers to and from medical appointments in the Tooele County and Salt Lake City areas.
Assist all passengers in and out of the transportation vehicle.
Assist with all transportation programs.
May perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience:
High school graduate or GED equivalent
AND
Three (3) years of general responsible work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of road safety and driving practices. Knowledge of the geographical areas including Grantsville, Tooele, and Salt Lake City.
Ability to work independently, adjust to changing procedures and schedule work efficiently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public; ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Must possess a valid Utah driver's license with no DUI's/ARR's in the past five (5) years and no more than two (2) moving violations within the past 24 months. Must be able to keep client confidentiality. Must successfully pass a background check and a pre-hiring drug screening and continuous random drug screening.
