PURPOSE
The Business and Industry Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating work-based learning experiences programming, with a focus on engaging business and industry partners.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assist the Director and Assistant Director(s) in defining plans, goals, policies, and procedures for program development.
Maintain a current list of active industry partners willing to provide high-quality work-based learning opportunities.
Recruit new industry partners to provide high-quality work-based learning opportunities for students.
Coordinate cooperative education, internships, job shadowing, mentorships, apprenticeships, service learning, high-quality field trips, and other work-based learning opportunities that arise.
Match industry partner interests with student work-based learning opportunities.
Create, modify, and renew required documentation for work-based learning opportunities.
Disseminate information regarding work-based learning to parents, students, teachers, and other staff.
Assist with career development of students.
Attend various meetings with stakeholders.
Assist in planning common advisory committee meetings, for building-wide professional development.
Maintain relationships with a variety of external stakeholders in the community, including but not limited to; local employers, local economic boards, city government and post-secondary institutions.
Assist with the yearly follow-up on recently graduated students.
Develop and recruit active industry partners to provide high-quality work-based learning opportunities.
Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: Hold Missouri Career Services Coordinator certificate or ability to obtain; hold Missouri Career Education Counselor certification or ability to obtain; or hold Missouri Career Education teacher certification.
Preferred: Program management experience; Experience in a program focusing on career services for students.
