The IT Business Analyst (BA) Intern is a member the Business Analyst Team, which is part of the Business Engagement Management team within Data and Digital Services for Labcorp Drug Development.

This role will build knowledge, skills and experience in business analysis and gather business domain knowledge across Early Development, CTTS and CDCS.The goal of a business analyst is to critically evaluate business and organizational needs so that viable solutions may be found to do work more efficiently and effectively.

The BA intern will assist in the identification and clarification of stakeholder and/or organizational needs through development of business and user requirements, translate business needs to technical needs, and vice versa. This role will also support the creation and prioritization of business requirements based on business value, technical feasibility, and other criteria.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Partner with lead business analysts and business relationship managers, delivery and functional teams in the development of business cases with cost and benefit analyses of alternatives for a proposed solution. Analyze applications, technologies, and business domains to fully understand and document the needs, problems, and opportunities. Assess the enterprise to identify capability or technology gaps that prevent it from meeting business objectives and achieving strategic goals. Utilize a working knowledge of internal capabilities and industry software trends to identify new solution opportunities. Document business process definition, use cases, data flows and modeling. Document business and high-level stakeholder requirements and analyze for completeness and alignment with business goals and objectives using agile and traditional requirements gathering approaches as appropriate. Analyze solution options and assist in determining a single solution. Working with the lead business analyst and business relationship manager, assemble and organize the output of pre-project discovery and analysis. Assist in ensuring requirements are effectively communicated and understood by stakeholders and solutions teams. Support the lead BA in collaboration and alignment activities around requirements. Work with senior business analysts, business relationship managers, IT and business management to provide additional deliverables as needed.

Job Purpose:
This position will be responsible for supporting the demand plan, over the summer months, for a 24-month outlook across multiple sales regions in support of the Masonite business unit.
