Current is seeking a Product Owner to join our progressive and dynamic fast-paced enterprise and mobile applications team. These are exciting times - our industry and user expectations are changing and so are we! We are developing the next generation of world class Internet of Things (IoT) connected lighting and building automation controls and applications. This is a hands-on product owner/business analyst role that will directly contribute to the development of requirements in the form of epics and user stories of our cutting edge cloud-connected IoT applications and offerings with the latest tools. You will be part of our fast-growing innovative technology design center located in Round Rock, TX, a hi-tech hub north of Austin or Cleveland, Ohio.

We are looking for a talented and creative problem solver. You will be involved in the complete software development life cycle, seeing your epics and user stories into a finished product in a hybrid agile environment. This will require a high degree of collaboration between highly-talented, cross-functional and geographically-dispersed development teams. You will work closely with industry-best product management team, developers and other design team members to present business and customer needs and help develop end-to-end solutions.
Essential Functions

Conduct voice of customers studies to understand and document user work flows and use cases.

Develop Epics and detailed user stories and work closely with development team members to help develop end to end enterprise lighting solutions

Be the bridge between development team members and the end customers, users and other stake holders

Develop marketing collaterals like product specs, training documentation, user manual, user acceptance tests (UAT), etc.

Assist with the preparation of wireframes and lead focus groups to validate concepts

Attend all scrum meetings including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standup, sprint review to answer all requirement questions and provide feedback on development artifacts and applications.

Perform UAT and support field trials.

Serves as a liaison between a business area(s) and IT; has a detailed understanding of that business area's goals and objectives. This position works closely with the business partners to understand their business needs, help solution and add /prioritize them against the work backlog. The candidate will also collaborate with appropriate IT partners to resolve technical issues and incorporate into the existing work backlog.

More specifically this position is responsible for working with agile teams on backlog refinement, sprint planning, PI planning, and running daily stand-up meetings. This position consults in IT strategy and planning, workflow and process design, work estimation and product solution development. The IT BSA is a leader and plays a key role throughout the full application lifecycle for small and large data analytics initiatives.
Will act as the Agile Data Analytics Product Owner. Candidate must be customer-centric with a demonstrated knowledge of IT development and support processes. In addition the candidate must possess initiative; analytical reasoning; and exceptional listening/oral/written communications skills. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization. Experience with the Microsoft Azure platform, Azure Data Warehouse and PowerBI and use of data analytics is a plus. Knowledge of Agile methodology, scrum practices and associated tools such as Jira, VSTS and/or other Agile applications is highly desired.Candidate must have strong software development lifecycle (e.g. agile, iterative, waterfall) experience with a focus on the agile methodology Product Owner role, requirements gathering and testing. A working knowledge of requirements and test quality management tools such as HP Quality Center is required. Very desirable candidates will bring prior utility experience and a consultancy model approach to the Business Solutions Analyst role on cross-functional teams implementing Software as a Service (SaaS) and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) solutions. Experience using data to inform the business and drive decision making is a plus Ability to manage competing priorities and a track record of following through on commitments.Ability to lead small high performing teams to deliver successful outcomes.Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and application development methodologies; has participated in a large project.Candidate must be able to travel on short notice within Eversource service territory (CT, MA and NH).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years' demonstrated application of Business Analysis skills;Prior experience in the utility industry is a plus.
