The Business Continuity Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, growth, and ongoing administration of the Business Continuity Program. The Specialist will work cross-functionally with stakeholder groups to maintain and advance the business continuity framework and support critical business areas.
Essential Functions:


Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence. Provide input in the development and execution of the Business Continuity Program. Identify and influence the adoption of business continuity best practices, as defined by the client's culture and unique business needs. Manage the business impact analysis process to determine program focus priorities. Identify opportunities to improve the program and maintain a state of audit-readiness to support regulatory and partner requirements. Serve as an owner of business continuity management-related materials including business continuity policies and standards. Support business units in the identification of critical processes and functions, formulation of responses to business disruptions, completion of business impact analysis updates, and performance of ongoing maintenance and testing activities; Identify and when required, incorporate new business units, systems, and processes into the business continuity program. Provide periodic reports on overall program status and effectiveness. Track and drive the resolution of all corrective action activity. Manage business continuity service provider contracts and relationships. Create programs to assess and monitor vendor BC/DR compliance. Identify and when required, incorporate new business units, systems, and processes into the business continuity program. Collaborate with other service functions such as Regional Security Managers, IT, PE, ER, Finance, and Legal. All other duties, as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:


Bachelor's degree with professional qualifications, DRI or BCI preferred, and at least five years of experience in a similar role within a global organization implementing and managing business continuity or risk management programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. The Business Continuity Specialist reports to the Director, Business Continuity. This role requires a significant understanding of business continuity planning methodologies and support of critical business operations. The business continuity specialist will assist in maintaining and improving the resiliency of Starr's business continuity program to protect employees as well as Starr's brand and reputation.This role will be an active participant in responding to actual incidents and or events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the Director, Business Continuity as well as Business Leadership on significant projects that affect Starr's resiliency of critical business processes.

Responsible for supporting Starr's global business continuity program which includes but not limited to:

Ensure that Business Continuity program components (Business Impact Analysis, Risk Assessments, plans, strategies, etc.) are current, address Starr business requirements and are tested accordingly. Coordinate and prepare post-reporting on business testing and recovery exercises (Walk-throughs, Full Exercises, Remote, etc). Conduct annual incident management training with all Incident Management Teams (IMTs) to include tabletop with location-based risks. Develop schedules and materials for Business Continuity training/awareness activities to ensure that employees understand business continuity and their responsibility when an incident/event occurs. Administer and manage content on the Business Continuity Teams and Intranet sites. Manage emergency communications with employees and administer emergency communications tool. Support the Incident Management Team (IMT) to include scheduling conference calls, supporting emergency communications, preparing, and distributing status updates, guiding decision-making, ensuring execution of action items, and creating post-incident reports. Support business continuity related initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:


Knowledge or experience in business continuity planning - commensurate with 5-10 years of experience. An understanding of Information Technology concepts. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, etc.). Strong analytical skills. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Must be able to interact and work efficiently and effectively with employees across the organization. Strong administrative skills, including effectiveness in developing project plans to achieve target dates. Ability to be on call to support off-hour incident management events. Able to travel (domestically and internationally) (5%-10%). Must be a productive team player and must also be comfortable working independently, with little direct supervision.


PREFERRED:


Undergraduate degree Professional Designation - Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP, MBCI, etc.) Prior business continuity experience at a large organization or business continuity consulting experience. Experience in using a business continuity planning software Experience in using employee emergency notification system Experience in managing disruptive incidents (significant, multi-site incidents would be a strong plus).
