Business Development Consultant

I graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.B.A in marketing. During college, I worked at a bank and enjoyed all things finance. I acquired my first internship as a Market Research Intern at Centra Funding which offered equipment financing to businesses. When my internship ended, I was promoted to a full time role as a Marketing and Credit Analyst. I was involved pretty much with every department there: credit, accounting, and sales, and found that I enjoyed working with people the most versus the analytical side of this role. I was recruited one year in by the branch manager of City Bank Mortgage. I met him through a good friend who is his daughter. He needed a bi-lingual person with my skill sets to join his team and my outgoing personality and financial background helped me acquire this role. The role was presented to me as a "marketing" position but in reality it was business development and mortgage consulting- the bank gave me the job title of Mortgage Consultant. I had to learn the industry ins and outs and even attained my MLO license.

Some of my duties were the following:
-Answer all client calls and direct clients to a mortgage application or set up a meeting with them and my mortgage team
-Create, plan and schedule social media content and look for opportunities there to:
Form new relationships with Real Estate agents or new clients
Establish my teams' credibility online by creating educational content
-Find sponsors, plan and execute networking events to attract Real Estate agents. The goal was to build a rapport with them to build trust and encourage them to send us new mortgage clients.
-Process mortgage applications, review credit and financial documents, and support clients and everyone involved in the mortgage loan process.
-Leverage and manage our CRM to consistently communicate with our previous clients and leads.
-Contact and convert leads

I really thrived offering a great client experience and at our networking events. I'm certainly a people person and proved I was great at building relationships. We were consistently a top-performing team. At around the end of my first year, I met with my manager and expressed that I wanted less involvement on the analytical side of the role and when my mortgage team moved to AmeriFirst Financial of Texas I was given the title of Business Development Representative.
