The Major Gifts Officer will be a vital member of a growing, donor-centric fundraising team that will strengthen and expand donor support for the University of Redlands. The incumbent will conduct frequent visits and work closely with Prospect Research to identify and engage new prospective donors, with a focus on securing major gifts and commitments of $25,000 and higher (and leadership gifts of $5,000 or more annually). The MGO will design and implement strategies to move assigned prospects through the donor cycle by getting to know them, listening to their interests and concerns, connecting them with the institution in intentional and thoughtful ways, and inspiring them to make contributions that align with the University's strategic priorities. This position requires flexibility to work evening and weekend hours, as well as the ability to travel, as needed. The successful candidate will be an energetic collaborator, skilled communicator, great listener, relationship builder, strong writer, and well-organized team player dedicated to achieving fundraising goals in support of the University of Redlands. Possess a general knowledge of planned giving vehicles, including testamentary bequests. Partner with the Director of Major Gifts, the Major Gifts team, and Prospect Research staff to identify and prioritize prospective donors for cultivation and solicitation, tracking engagement through all stages of the fundraising cycle.     We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director - Outside Sales to lead the charge in securing and growing private and special event business across weddings, corporate buyouts, brand activations, and other high-impact experiences. This role is responsible for driving new strategic sales initiatives, achieving revenue goals, and cultivating client relationships while ensuring all event offerings align with the brand's identity and premium service standards. Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy & Revenue Leadership Develop and execute a targeted outside sales strategy that drives bookings across all private event verticals. Own and exceed annual revenue targets through proactive prospecting, relationship-building, and strategic outreach. Identify new market opportunities and high-value client segments to grow market share and event footprint. Client Relationship Management Build and nurture long-term relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, agencies, and brand partners. Lead high-level sales conversations, proposals, and contract negotiations to secure top-tier events. Ensure an exceptional client experience throughout the sales cycle to drive satisfaction and repeat business. Forecasting & Goal Setting Create accurate sales forecasts and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads. Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for both individual and team performance. Analyze sales data to inform strategy adjustments and identify growth opportunities. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead, mentor, and grow a high performing outside sales team focused on private and special events. Foster a culture of performance, innovation, and accountability. Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and events to ensure seamless client handoffs and successful event execution. Brand Alignment & Offering Development Ensure all proposals and event offerings reflect brand values, aesthetic, and service excellence.
