Overview
Business Functional Analyst role covers the whole analysis phase of a project and is able to design optimal target state business processes, including aspects outside own area of responsibility to ensure target processes are designed and aligned front to back.

Business Functional Analyst is responsible for ensuring requirements are captured, analyzing the impact of changes, and supporting the Business throughout the implementation process. The Senior Business Functional Analyst is also responsible for guiding Business Functional Analysts in the review and analysis of requirements and functional specifications to ensure quality of deliverables.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Conducting IB/Securities Operations processes/Fixed Income processing Responsible for all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), e.g., User Requirements gathering, writing Business requirements, writing Functional requirements, Testing (system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT)); formulating test scenarios, test plan/strategy, test scripts, executing test scripts, defect tracking Project Management

Your Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of Broadridge application called MBSE and ImpactKnowledge of Fixed Income processing Experience with Tools like MS Office suite, JIRA, OneNoteTechnical knowledge like writing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries used to analyze data Ability to work in a team environment as this will require interacting with other teams outside of the group

Job Role and Responsibilities:
The role is to lead Business System Analyst activities for the US integrations team.

Lead discovery sessions to observe, document, and validate business processes and capture key insights. Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions/COTS/SaaS Elicit, analyze, document functional requirements and rules. Participate in the backlog prioritization/grooming Create user stories and wireframes to conceptualize future states for user experience, new or enhanced services, and business cases for products or features. Define acceptance criteria Provide functional and configuration support for a specific COTS/SaaS. Involved in all implementations, testing, integration, and issue resolution around COTS/SaaS solution Create technical user manuals, system configuration documents and other technical reports. Lead operational and production support with ability to troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis in the business workflow and processes on a variety of production and application issues. Monitor performance, identifying underlying problems, researching potential solutions, and propose necessary actions in business workflow and processes. Act as a primary SME liaison between business users/BAs and IT project team Manage user expectations and requirements scope Participates in fit/gap analysis of functional requirements Facilitate functional requirements walkthroughs and respond to Test team ambiguity review questions Lead functional documentation design (use cases, functional specifications, reports, Mapping sheet between consumer and providers) Review test cases Work closely with Project Manager, architects, developers, Test team, business users/BAs and applicable outside entities (vendors and others) Actively participates in change management activities Works with Project Manager to ensure compliance to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Provides estimates for BSA work efforts on new projects and for on-going forecasting Assist in fulfilling SOX and other compliance requests



Required:


BA/BS degree in IS/Comp science required, major in related field preferred. 5-7 years as a Business Systems/Functional Analyst or a Consultant creating technology solutions Expert skills in requirements elicitations, and analysis. Experience creating requirements documentation: Use Cases, User Stories. Experience doing analysis using data (queries, excel, other tools) Experience in agile methodologies. Problem analysis & resolution experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as, demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills; ability to establish strong relationships. Functional knowledge of Insurance industry Working knowledge of Azure boards, Jira or similar tool Experience service based functional experience Experience in design API's and creating API specs (swagger files) Experience in Data Mapping from Source System to Consumer System.



Preferred:


Certifications: Scrum, SAFe Strong Ability to document and create mocks/prototypes for team to consume. Experience with Design Thinking and work experience in webservices/API integration BSA / Functional Analysis certification. Intermediate SQL Skills Knowledge of Group Insurance Industry.
