KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Head of Business Intelligence to manage, promote strategy and be the subject matter expert for actionable and insightful business analysis and reporting across the firm. This leader will interface among business, system owners, and users to develop best practices for multi-disciplinary dashboarding and reporting across the firm. This position will manage the reporting systems infrastructure and software in accordance with industry standards for software development and systems management. This individual will be expected to develop and implement a strategic vision for unifying reporting across systems and data sources. The leader will need in-depth knowledge of financial and investment data and investment, trading, and operational systems. * Implement and execute strategic vision for interactive visualization and reporting

* Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and developers to ensure accurate analysis and interpretation of data

* Assess inefficiencies and existing processes to identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive)
* Explore and uncover data strategies to support and enable advanced data analytics
* Manage and understand stakeholder expectations, priorities, and needs
* Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to team members and peers by articulating ideas, collaborating with others, transferring knowledge and expertise regarding business and reporting processes
* Serve as a liaison between key stakeholders to gather business requirements needed for system and process modifications, enhancements, and implementation

Job DescriptionLeads efforts aimed at meeting business intelligence objectives including information delivery and data analytics projects with the goal of empowering and enabling business users with actionable information. In addition to providing project and technical leadership, expectations may include leading teams of developers and analysts, working closely with business and IT partners, developing and maintaining best practices and architectural standards, as well as taking accountability of highly technical deliverables.

• Provides development and leadership in finding solutions to multiple, cross-disciplinary business intelligence, analytics, data visualization or data warehousing/data architecture projects.

• May lead teams of developers or analysts for either project efforts or recurring/ongoing support activities supported within the team, which may include personnel management activities.
• Leads the creation of solutions that provide accurate information quickly to the organization.
• Analyzes, Designs and builds reports, dashboards or other business intelligence components as needed.
• Responsible for development that may drive the creation of new data assets or information exchange to support the creation of decision support applications or business intelligence/analytics solutions.
• Work closely with other staff to identify levels of effort and task dependencies as assigned by team/organizational leaders.
• Coordinates efforts performed by project team members to ensure that all activities completed in order to achieve the desired outcome.
• Provides leadership regarding the creation of database tables, objects, assets and/or cubes utilizing commonly accepted methodologies and best practices for dimensional modeling and normal forms. Assists or leads the creation of data marts as needed.
• Leads efforts focused on ensuring business intelligence and analytics staff are appropriately trained on the use of supported technologies, as well as, in the overall design and development approach for organization efforts.
• Mentors and coaches staff in order to ensure adherence to standards and best practices within all development activities. Collaborates with other developers on the application of best practices and contributes to the evolution of standards aimed at improving scalability, performance and maintainability. Serves as the final arbiter on adoption of proposed standards for business intelligence and analytics solutions.
• Actively seeks new technologies, practices, and methodologies that will improve all aspects of business intelligence and advanced analytics.
• Proactively accepts accountability, generates and oversees deliverables, and works with cross-departmental teams to overcome impediments and ultimately deliver on time and on budget with a high degree of quality.
• Creates architecture and design solutions, reviews those of others, and manages the adherence to that road map.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative fashion, as part of a team, or independently, as the situation demands.
• Ability to exceed the vision set forth by product owners by leveraging advanced techniques and creative solutions for emerging business needs.
• Maintain communication with customers, internal and external, to ensure high levels of customer focus relating to business intelligence and analytics solutions.

Other Job Requirements
Responsibilities
A bachelor’s degree in business intelligence, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, analytics, computer and information sciences or similar is required. Will substitute an additional 10+ years of direct experience in business intelligence, data analytics or statistics in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

6+ years of work experience in BI or related discipline, other employment or volunteer activities or demonstrated proficiency in Business Intelligence/Analytics project activities through successful initiatives that demonstrate competence that goes beyond what is typical of individuals with 6+ years of work experience.

Prior experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or Data Analyst supporting business intelligence, reporting, analytics or data warehouse projects.

Experience researching and implementing new information systems in a business setting.

Demonstrated experience using multiple databases and tools and leading business intelligence, analytics or data visualization technologies. Familiarity with a broad range of data platforms (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Hadoop, Netezza, Teradata, RedShift, Snowflake) and Business Intelligence/data visualization tools/platforms/environments (IBM Cognos, SAS. R, Qlik, OracleBI and SQL Server Reporting Services/PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Qlik, Tableau) is required.

In-depth knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, including various forms of modeling (dimensional and relational) and warehousing strategies.

The ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies while considering the business needs and direction. Experience leading business intelligence or analytics/data warehousing projects with responsibility for delegating and overseeing the activities of other project contributors.

Master Data Management, Data Stewardship, or Data Governance experience.

JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
