Purpose and Scope: The Modality Intelligence Lead is a scientific subject matter expert within the Oncology Research Intelligence group, specializing in the strategic analysis of emerging therapeutic modalities such as next gen ADCs, engineered biologics, or small molecules. Reporting to the Head of CI&RPM, this role provides deep, cross-oncology research portfolio insights on modality trends, competitor activities, platform technologies, and translational relevance to inform Oncology Research strategy. Essential Job Responsibilities: Modality Landscape Monitoring & Strategic Foresight: Continuously monitor scientific, clinical, and technological advances across prioritized therapeutic modalities. Identify emerging trends, breakthroughs, and risks with implications for Astellas' oncology research strategy and modality capabilities. Develop structured landscape assessments and foresight reports highlighting implications for internal pipeline differentiation and innovation gaps. Contribute to the enhancement of intelligence infrastructure (e.g., databases, dashboards, horizon scanning tools) with a modality focus. Qualifications: Required Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA, or equivalent) in life sciences, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, bioengineering or related field. Minimum 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, external innovation, academic collaboration, or scientific partnering. Deep technical understanding of one or more modality platforms (e.g., engineered biologics, engineered small molecules, next generation ADCs). Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex datasets and scientific trends into actionable strategy. Proven experience influencing research or portfolio decisions through strategic insights. Familiarity with the external innovation ecosystem including biotech start-ups, platform companies, and academic research.     A Senior Business Consultant must be able to demonstrate competence in relevant functional knowledge in the areas of financials, cost accounting, MRP, planning and scheduling, project management, process modeling, and system implementation methodology. Experience in discrete manufacturing consulting with the CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) product is required. Primary Objectives A Senior Business Consultant is to provide billable business consulting and training services to customers in support of the CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) system. Depending on skillset, a CloudSuite Industrial (Syteline) Business Consultant may also provide other consulting services, which may be unrelated to CloudSuite Industrial/SyteLine (i.e., business process re-engineering, etc.). Responsibilities • Execute and implement project plans • On-site client interaction • Develop deliverable documentation for customers • End-user training • Analyzing and recommending solutions for complex tactical-level problems. • Manufacturing business process analysis and modeling • Test plan development • System testing • Internal and external status reporting Position Requirements, Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • SyteLine 8 or 9 competency required • The position requires 25 to 50% travel within the US. Infrequent international travel may be required. • Excellent analytical skills. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to see the “big picture” for globally optimized solutions across all areas in the client organization. • Ability to make decisions independently. • Ability to communicate convincingly and effectively with different parts of the organization and to make recommendations on SyteLine usage and configuration based on best practices and experience. • Eagerness to take initiative in learning and applying new skills. • Ability to learn quickly and effectively on your own. • Computer skills: MS Project, Excel, Access & Oracle/SQL (beginner level), general MS navigating • Insight into both the business side and technological side of the Supply Chain processes (forecasting, planning and scheduling) • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills • Flexibility in dealing with simultaneous projects • Strong customer service attitude • Strong self-motivation but not afraid to ask for help • Hold yourself and your work to high standards • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines • High energy level; ability to persist Requirements • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in an analytical field such as MIS, math, operations research, engineering, logistics, or science. • 3+ years of SyteLine product experience utilizing analytical skills in a manufacturing and distribution environment. • 5+ years' experience in forecasting, scheduling, planning, logistics, and manufacturing. • APICS Certified (CPIM) Recommended • In-depth knowledge of finite scheduling, simulation, or solver-based optimization is required. • Experience implementing forecasting, planning & scheduling software.

Competent to work at the highest phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities Enhances the design of current systems to improve system capabilities to meet the changing needs of the business. Works with business users or business systems analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications Develops and implements program/system test plans. Devises data verification methods and standard system procedures. Maintains technical skill set for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks needed to support work assignments programming personnel. Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers.
