The Federal Work Study Internship Program and The Tom Tom Foundation are currently recruiting for a Marketing Intern to work directly with the Tom Tom Foundation.
This hybrid position will be located in the Tom Tom Foundation offices located at 100 W South St, #1D, Charlottesville, VA 22902. We will meet at least once weekly at Tom Tom Offices South St, Other office hours can be flexible to accommodate work or class schedules. Outside of the office, much work can be done remotely.
We are seeking ambitious students eager to gain firsthand experience in programming, producing, and promoting Charlottesville's signature event - The Tom Tom Festival. The Marketing Intern will support the creative and strategic promotion of the Tom Tom Festival by assisting with graphic design coordination, social media management, and partner communications.
Applicants must be a current UVA undergraduate eligible for student employment and Federal Work Study.
In addition to the job duties and responsibilities outlined, this position will participate in a structured internship experience through the Internship Placement Program (IPP). If selected, interns must enroll in either UNST 3910 (1 cr.) or UNST 3920 (1 cr.). (the courses are offered 9+ times
during the spring, offering plenty of options to choose from.)
Through this robust internship experience, students will receive dedicated career support from their supervisor and gain key skills and competencies that align with future job interests.
The FWS Internship will look great on your resume and provide the student with impactful stories to share in interviews.
Internships are best suited for students in their 2nd - 4th years.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include organizing digital assets, developing engaging and interactive social media content, and providing input on marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility. The Intern will monitor and analyze key performance indicators such as SEO rankings, backlinks, and click-through rates, and help grow event awareness through both marketing and public relations activities. They will also assist in drafting, organizing, and distributing press releases to ensure timely coverage of newsworthy events. They may also be tasked with drafting copy for emails, blogs, etc.
The Marketing Intern position will be a paid position offering $17.00-20.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
10 hours per week is desired by the on-site supervisor.
