The goal of the SelectQuote internship program is to provide an opportunity to develop industry-related knowledge, and enhance skills that are transferable to any type of professional setting. No matter what your skills and professional experience, a SelectQuote internship is a chance to develop them even further. For this reason along with the day to day intern duties SelectQuote interns will work together on a multitude of special projects, community events, and fun activities throughout the duration of the internship program. The balance of the day-to-day work along with diverse projects, and community involvement will provide our interns with a well-rounded learning experience that will enhance their overall professional development. This is a paid position.
Essential Function:

+ Analyze company performance history to determine optimum levels of productivity, helping to minimize waste.

+ Become familiar with customer relationship management software (SelectCare).

+ Perform SQL queries for real time updates on reporting requests.

+ Develop and maintain responsibility for performance and metric reporting on an historical basis.

+ Identify workflow/system improvements and present solutions to management team.

+ Provide analytical support for best business practices across all company departments (Finance, Marketing, Sales, etc.).

+ Produce clear and concise presentations regarding projects and other assigned tasks.

+ Provide analysis for strategic initiatives through modeling and sensitivity tool usage.

Training & Experience:

+ Currently enrolled in Junior or Senior year of college/university

+ Degree focused in Economics, Business, or related field

KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Intern for our Commercial Japanese Practice team in Business Tax Services.

Responsibilities:

Help perform tax-related tasks involving tax compliance to a variety of clients including partnerships, corporations and S-corporations

Assist with research, tax compliance and provision projects, controversy support, risk management and interactions with other tax service lines

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and sustain excellent client relationships

Keep up to date on current tax practices

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial or systems) or related fields

Preferred: Degrees and/or areas of study: Accounting and Taxation

Pursuing the state-specific education requirements to be a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the principal place of business for this position

Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.00 or above

Upon completion of this internship candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements

Bilingual in English and Japanese with ability to use both Japanese and English language skills in a business environment

Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science or data and analytics preferred

Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work

Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
