Description

The Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for representing the hotel's services and facilities to prospective clients and customers in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, is organized and able to multi-task. Specifically, the Sales Manager would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Respond to sales inquiries from potential clients and customers seeking sleeping rooms, meeting space, food and beverage services, etc.
  • Initiate new sales, prospects and qualifies leads and solicits potential clients
  • Host and entertain clients and maintain client accounts
  • Conduct property site visits and answer questions
  • Determine rates, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, service accounts and analyze lost business for the hotel(s)
  • Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals
  • Partner with operations departments to ensure full participation in servicing accounts
Requirements

The Business Travel Sales Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our clients and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, the following requirements must be met:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably specializing in Hospitality, Food & Beverage and or equivalent experience is required.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years or more years of strong Hotel Sales Management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, professionalism, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience working with Delphi is a plus.
  • High level of IT proficiency.

Summary: Originates Small Business Finance products and deposit relationships to drive both core business finance asset and liability growth and non-interest income, through calling on outside lists, calling on internal lists, personally developed centers of influence, personally developed business referrals, and referrals from internal partners. Identifies and creates Small Business Finance sales and marketing strategies. Work closely with the Small Business Credit and Payments Sr. Manger who develops and underwrites the products. Hire, recruit and manage the Business Finance Lending Associates as the department and program grows.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

+ Originates Business Finance credit and deposit relationships.

+ Develops and implements the departmental business plan based on the Bank's business strategy and sets departmental goals for Business Finance sales, including projected NII (non-interest income) for executive management review and approval. Communicates plan to staff. Monitors and reports results to both staff and management.

+ Develops and implements sales strategies including but not limited to calling on lists, developing referrals through COI, business relationships and branch associates.

+ Manages the Business Finance Sales Department including the potential to grow the sales component into a multi-state function.

+ Increases market share by building new customer relationships and utilizes the Bank's finance products to attract business depositors to a more efficient banking relationship.

+ Provides sales leadership, training and oversight as sales staff is added.

+ Ensures that the department performs as a highly effective and responsive sales and service channel

+ Ensures that the department safeguards customer privacy and the confidentiality of customer information through the implementation and use of all customer protection policies and procedures.

Required Experience:

+ Minimum of 4 years in Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) and/or Small Business lending Sales

+ 1 year of Outbound / list cold calling experience

+ Proven successful track record in outbound Sales and Portfolio Management in either the bank small business lending space or MCA space

+ Strong Pipeline Management and phone skills

+ Ability to possess, develop and maintain High Level business relationships with decision makers to source new and renewal business

+ Ability to coach and train a team on business finance product sales and referral identification

+ Remote Management of a team and sales territory throughout the Chicagoland Area

+ Out of State travel up to 10% of the time

+ Bachelor Degree preferred

+ 1+ years of People / Team Management preferred

What You'll Do

As the Business Travel Sales Manager, you'll consistently provide a high level of exposure of the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact, written communications, and involvement in the community. You'll be the face of Kimpton at the local and regional level.

Some of your responsibilities include:

* Successfully achieve or exceed weekly and quarterly individual pace/production goals based on assigned markets.
* Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts in order to maximize room revenue to meet and/or exceed individual and team sales and revenue goals.
* Develop and continually enhance relationships with key accounts to maintain high visibility and increase market share.
* Track all sales activities including goal-to-current production status using Delphi.
* Conduct telephone prospect calling on a myriad of pre-selected databases and anything else you can think of to generate more Sales business.
* Conduct sales presentations to clients and ownership verbally and using the latest technology.
* Conduct and build Fam Trips for meeting planners/companies.
* Lead Follow up/ Lead generation.
* Conduct site inspections.
* Travel as needed, to complete personal sales calls and presentations to customers within your discipline/ region and attend trade shows as needed.
* Be nimble, when writing the marketing action plans that you will create and complete, always build creative proposals!
* Negotiate and execute contracts that are fair and profitable.

What You Bring

* 2+ years sales management experience preferably in business travel market or/and 2+ years hotel sales experience in Upscale hotels.
* Bachelor's degree in Hospitality/Tourism Management, Business, or related field of study is preferred.
* Proven successful selling and negotiation skills, including prospecting are required.
* Knowledge of Delphi is a plus.
* The ideal candidate must also possess excellent organization, task management, and verbal/written communication skills.
* Motivation and ability to identify new business opportunities and maintain a high regard for customer loyalty is essential!
