THE ROLE
The Busser provides essential operational support for the entire service team, focused on maintaining the seamless flow and readiness of the bar and the floor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Flow & Sanitation
Clear, sanitize, and reset all tables and seating areas.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all service stations, back-of-house areas, and storage spaces.
Operational Support
Ensure continuous availability of clean glassware and dishware by running items between the floor, bar, and dish area efficiently.
Proactively assist servers and barbacks with tasks to maintain the speed and quality of guest service.
Take and process food orders at the service counter using the point of sale (POS) system.
Team & Compliance
Communicate clearly and effectively with the team.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/local alcohol service regulations, as well as Health & Safety.
Perform additional support tasks and duties to assist coworkers or as requested by leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS & PREREQUISITES
Prior experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods throughout a shift.

The busser is responsible for efficiently clearing, cleaning and resetting tables, while assisting food servers in all aspects of guest table service, maximizing table turns and maintaining restaurant flow.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Clear and reset tables efficiently before, during and after service periods to turn tables
Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers and proper table set ups
Maintain cleanliness and stock of their assigned areas and side stations
Work as a team, assisting all guests' and team members' needs and inquiries
Ensure that all necessary stock is being replenished during the shift
Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints while maintaining a positive attitude escalating to management when necessary
Clean and dry spills immediately upon occurrence; never leaving spills unattended
Move furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to: tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipment
Ensure that any breakage is reported and recorded
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
Complete opening/running/closing side work duties as assigned
Assist teammates with opening/running/closing side work duties upon request
Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
High School Diploma preferred
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
18+ years of age
Possession of or the ability to possess all state required work cards
Minimum of one (1) years related experience
Proper lifting techniques
Guest relations
Sanitation and safety
Full service restaurant operations
Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the public

About the Job
A Bus Person works primarily in the dining area of a restaurant. They move throughout the dining area attending to diners and assisting waitstaff with their duties.
A Bus Person's duties and responsibilities include:
Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins from tables after diners are done eating
Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables
Straightening out the tablecloth or replacing stained ones
Replacing cutlery and glassware in anticipation of new diners
Refilling paper napkins, salt and pepper shakers and any other depleted condiments on the dining table
Refilling drinking glasses with water
Bringing out meal orders if waitstaff are busy
Handling cleaning of the dining area at the close of day
