Busser FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt SUPERVISOR: MOD REPORTS: None The busser is the link between the host position and the servers. In a busy sales period, bussers can increase productivity by quickly keeping the tables cleaned and re-set for waiting guests. RESPONSIBILITIES (PRIMARY) * Clear, clean and reset guest tables upon departure. * Clean chairs, booth seating areas and floors as needed. * Keep glasses, cups, share plates and togo supplies stocked. * Brew coffee and tea as needed. * Deliver water to newly seated tables. * When requested by the host or at hourly intervals, enter bathrooms to check supplies and provide quick cleaning as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES (POS COMPUTER SYSTEM) Able to read menu items and seat positions from requisition chits POS Payroll Procedures RESPONSIBILITIES (OTHER) * This position will need strong menu knowledge to identify food and correct appearance as well as answer basic questions. * In the absence of a runner, the busser may assist servers with working with kitchen personnel to organize, garnish, clean and deliver correct plates in order to guests. Deliver by seat number, no "auctioning." * Verify correct items delivered before leaving the table. * Notify the server of food delivery and any follow up needed and responsibility of follow up action. Server will assume control of pre-setting of needed additional plates or utensils as well as check back after food delivery. * Bussers will assist in keeping the food pass area clean and organized, properly spindle completed orders and restock items as needed or requested. Title: Busser (Front of House Team Member) Invitation: To love and serve people by helping maintain our dining room by pre-bussing and bussing tables quickly and efficiently. The busser also aids the other positions in the front of house by cleaning tables and floors throughout the restaurant, stocking glassware, ice, dishes, etc. Specific Functions and Duties: Communicating with the host/hostesses, servers, bartenders, and management team to ensure tables are updated in our seating system. Pre-bussing tables in the dining room when all dirty tables are clean. Bussing/cleaning tables inside the restaurant as well as on the patio, and helping clean the bar top. Replace sanitizer in spray bottles and buckets as needed to ensure safety and sanitation. Clean, disinfect, and sanitize work areas before, during and after shift. Assist with stocking glassware, water bottles, plate ware, silverware, dishes, etc. as needed. Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects. Complete daily restaurant maintenance program. Qualification Standards: A positive attitude and desire to learn and grow Able to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves. Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required. Ability to follow directions exactly as expected. Ability to work fast, safe, efficient, and accurately for periods of up to 10 hours per day. Attention to detail. Mobility required during the entire shift. Ability to transport cases up to 50 pounds as many as 20 times per day. Ability to carry bus tubs full of dishes and miscellaneous items from the tables, throughout the entirety of the restaurant repetitively, for periods of up to 6 hours. Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others. Physical There are physical demands that come with this role. To be successful in this role you'll be regularly required to 1) navigate throughout the restaurant and communicate with guests, 2) move and grasp items up to five pounds, 3) occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, 4) bend and stoop. You must have adequate vision to be able to discern cleanliness throughout the restaurant and operate a touchscreen.
