Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Clearing, wiping, and cleaning, resetting tables on both patio and main dining room tables and communal and bar tables. * Anticipate all guests need and ensure they have proper silverware, clean share plates and condiments. * Diligent of Forbes steps of service standards; serving from the left, clearing from the right at all times. * Assist servers delivering drinks to tables and using the guest's name. * Ensure general housekeeping, including cleaning of fixtures, appliances, counters, dusting, and sweeping. * Maintain tables and station cleanliness, tidiness, and order. Clean up all spills immediately. * Re-stocking ice for server stations and bar ice wells as well as ice carts. * Help restock bar glassware, empty bar recycling and bar trash bins. * Assist in filling and restocking server side stations and patio with water bottles. * Keep main dining room and patio floor clean; sweeping and mopping debris throughout shift. * Brew coffee and iced tea as needed and ready to serve guests. * Ensure side stations have adequate number of roll ups, side plates, sanitizer buckets and water glasses. * Use tray at all times to buss dishes and glasses. * Complete all assigned tasks as directed by Manager or Supervisor. * Check and maintain the stock of lined plates on the pizza oven and hot line. * When clearing carry trays of dirty dishes to dishwasher and unload/rack properly as well as change out racks as needed. * Assist in taking down linen bags, recycle and trash to the loading dock. Secondary Job Functions * Assist in running (transport) food items from kitchen, oven and pantry areas to guests. * Assist Host in seating guests, greeting arriving guests and thanking those that are leaving. * Set-up and break down Communal or Stanton events, to include moving tables, chairs, replacing propane tanks and other furniture as necessary * Assist Servers with roll ups and side work as directed by Manager or Supervisor. * Answer the telephone, take reservations, and give directions to restaurant. * Retrieve supplies from purchases and break down supplies in The Bench storeroom. * Greet tables upon being seated, offer to light fire pits and offer beverages. * Knowledgeable of all menu items to take orders from guests as needed. * Retrieve wine from the wine room as directed by Manager or Supervisor. * Monitor alcohol consumption and behavior of guests alerting a manager of any intoxicated or questionable guests. * Strive to increase the guest check through suggestive sales techniques and menu knowledge. * Knowledge to prepare guest check using point of sale system, collect and process payment correctly. * Resolve guest problems whenever possible and directly communicate with manager. * Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety, health and general policies and procedures. Absolutely Required Skills: * Excellent communication skills. * A desire to develop, train and maintain best practices with Host team. * Possesses speed, accuracy and attention to detail. * Courtesy and anticipation of guests needs are essential. * Ability to oversee the efficient seating and scheduling daily. * Ability to stand for long periods of time. * Must be able to work as a team with entire floor staff and kitchen staff ensuring timely, efficient service. * Ability to work in high pressure environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Clear and reset tables efficiently after, during and after service periods to turn tables Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers and proper table set ups Maintain cleanliness and stock of their assigned areas and side stations Work as a team, assisting all guests' and team members' needs and inquiries Ensure that all necessary stock is being replenished during the shift Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints while maintaining a positive attitude escalating to management when necessary Clean and dry spills immediately upon occurrence; never leaving spills unattended Move furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to: tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipment Ensure that any breakage is reported and recorded Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment Complete opening/running/closing side work duties as assigned Assist teammates with opening/running/closing side work duties upon request Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS High School Diploma preferred Proof of eligibility to work in the United States 18+ years of age Possession of or the ability to possess all state required work cards Minimum of one (1) years related experience Proper lifting techniques Guest relations Sanitation and safety Full service restaurant operations Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the public WORKING CONDITIONS The working conditions described below are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
