Butch’s Rat Hole Service, Inc. was formed in 1980 in Levelland, Texas by L.D. (Butch) Bryant.
The same company that began with only two employees in 1980 now has over 950 employees servicing a customer base across the United States.
Butch’s expanded into the oil production arena with an anchor setting and testing company in 1982.
During the 1990’s, Butch led the company through a period of conservative and well-planned actions that established the company in the industry and prepared the organization to meet the future demands of the market.
During the late 1990’s, the oil and gas industry hit tough times, yet Scott maintained his focus on the organic growth of the company.
Scott Bryant officially joined Butch’s Rat Hole & Anchor Service in 1996, however, his desire to be involved in operations at his father’s company began at an early age.
After spending over 45 years in the oil and natural gas industry, Butch transitioned out of day-to-day operations and his son, Scott Bryant advanced into a leadership role within the corporation in 2001.

Additionally in 2011, a yard was formed in Dickinson, ND to provide rat hole drilling and cementing services to the Bakken/Williston Basin.
In 2012, yards were opened in Cotulla, Leesville and Seguin, TX offering services to the Eagle Ford Shale.
