**CAPPS NC Inspection Programmer - BWX Technologies, Inc -- Barberton, OH**
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for the development and preparation of complex machine process programs for all types of computer numericallycontrolled (CNC) machine tools. Included in this responsibility is the achievement of on schedule completions at the lowest product cost consistent with quality, safety and system compliance Uses CAPPS NC or similar software to write set up and inspection probing programs for CNC machines. Using CAD models and engineering drawings to define features needing inspection. Works with NC programmers to learn the machining operation sequence to develop the inspection program sequence
Job Qualifications / Requirements:
+ 4-5 years of experience in various phases of manufacturing related to machine tool operations and the application of computer programming to parts processing.
+ Knowledgeable in precision machining, set up and basic NC programming. Use of multi axis machines is helpful. CMM programming experience is a plus.
+ A strong emphasis and understanding of GD&T are required. Ability to select inspection routines efficiently to meet the inspection requirements. Additionally, a strong background in CAD/CAM software programming is desired.
+ Ability to work with machinists running the inspection programs.
+ Candidate must be familiar with the operations of a large machine shop. Will Interface with Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers and Production Supervisors to conceptualize, create, write, modify and debug successful computer programs used by Computer NumericallyControlled (CNC) machine tools probing for inspection purposes: these programs will interface with Siemens and Fanuc Control.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 1 year Experience using CAPPS NC or similar software to write set up and inspection probing programs for CNC machines.
+ A strong understanding and application of GD&T are required.
+ 1 year Experience using Soildwork CAD software.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Work with production and engineering to create new injection molds and perform repairs/modifications on existing injection molds using various tool room equipment including EDM and CNC's.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Mold Manufacturing & Support
Manufacture new injection molds based on customer specifications.
Create fixtures and auxiliary equipment to support production needs.
Perform repairs and modifications on existing molds using equipment such as CNC machines and EDM.
Planning & Scheduling
Plan and schedule mold-making projects to meet quoted hours and delivery timelines.
Coordinate with team members and prepare necessary prints and instructions.
Team Collaboration
Participate in kick-off meetings and contribute to mold design and build discussions.
Guide, train, and supervise assigned helpers or junior staff.
Process Documentation & Communication
Complete necessary paperwork and detailed instructions for mold assembly and maintenance.
Assess completed jobs for continuous improvement opportunities.
Quality & Safety Assurance
Promote and maintain high standards for product quality, safety, and cleanliness.
Ensure compliance with ISO and other quality standards.
Equipment Use & Maintenance
Operate a variety of tool room equipment including CNC machining centers, EDM sinker, and wire EDM.
Clean equipment and report maintenance issues to the shop supervisor.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Additional Duties
Work overtime as needed depending on project demands.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
High School education or equivalent.
Completion of a four-year state certified mold making apprenticeship program or Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree or equivalent preferred, but not required
5+ years of mold making experience
5+ years of tool room experience.
Technical experience with troubleshooting injection molding related issues
Strong technical/mechanical aptitude
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Basic mold tool design theory and a working knowledge of mold materials processing
Excellent math skills (use geometry, trigonometry, shop mathematics, and calculator proficiently)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to use pneumatic and power tools
Thorough knowledge of inspection equipment and techniques
Computer skills (for interoffice email and job communication)

LEAD CNC MACHINIST - C SHIFT
The Lead Machinist position will be based out of Rocket Lab's headquarters in Long Beach, CA. This person will report to the Fabrication Supervisor and develop a high performing team that is responsible for the machining and fabrication of a wide variety parts to support multiple programs across Rocket Lab. You will interface with critical teams including Supply Chain, CNC Programming, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, and Propulsion. WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
Responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of various CNC equipment.

Allocated resources to ensure delivery schedules are met for various production and R&D programs.
Collaborate heavily with Rocket Lab engineering teams to ensure the highest quality of parts are being manufactured and delivered.
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
12+ years of professional machine shop experience.
Ability to setup jobs on both CNC Mills and Lathes.
Ability to edit CNC programs.
Experience machining wide variety of materials.
Experience successfully leading a team in a fast-paced flexible environment running 5+ machines.
Excellent GD&T and blueprint familiarity coupled with inspection knowledge.

Read and Interpret Blueprints to understand and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to set up machines accurately and assess geometric tolerances.
Set up jobs by loading programs, selecting fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications.
Prepare and operate CNC machines, including; lathes, mills, grinders, waterjets and laser cutters to manufacture parts according to specifications.
Monitor Production and continuously monitor the machining process to ensure that parts meet quality standards and specifications.
Perform Maintenance by Conducting routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
Monitor tools and attachments to ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated.
Ensure full compliance with the Company's DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
Must maintain compliance with safety standards
Maintains a clean work space
Report on all production issues to the lead and manufacturing manager
Other duties as assigned
These CNC Machinist positions are for our 2nd shift operation. They also receive an 8% shift premium (of their base pay)
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND JOB QUALIFICATION
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
Proven experience as a CNC machinist or operator, with understanding/familiarity of CNC programming and operations preferred but not required.
Proficiency in reading technical documents and blueprints, along with mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions to ensure high-quality output.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process.
Basic mathematical skills include, but are not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
Must be capable of using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, thread gauges, and basic measuring tools.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements.
