Starship Explorer is a 36-bed, acute care unit with a patient population comprised primarily of surgical patients. The surgical services includes, but is not limited to cardiac, trauma, neurosurgery, ENT and orthopedic patients. Explorer's patients are both inpatient and observation patients. Explorer has central monitoring capabilities and 4 rooms with negative pressure capabilities. Explorer utilizes Valley Children's Healthcare L.E.G.A.C.Y. We have access to all of the Hospital's pediatric subspecialties and their associated physicians. The Department is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency physicians. In addition to their years of experience in providing pediatric emergency care, our emergency specialists have undergone a minimum of three years of general pediatric training plus an additional two to three years of fellowship training in pediatric emergency medicine. The Clinical Research Nurse, ensures that the health and safety of research participants and the integrity and quality of clinical trials, are maintained and conducted in accordance with federal, state, IRB, departmental, and institutional regulations, policies and procedures. The Clinical Research Nurse will primarily provide nursing expertise and care to research study patient management with primary focus on bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapy clinical trial protocols. They will ensure compliance to study protocols, may participate in feasibility evaluation, recruitment, consenting and enrollment activities, perform medical tests and procedures to facilitate study patient visits, provide investigational medication education and training, administer treatments, support side effect and adverse event monitoring, coordinate data collection, documentation and reporting, as applicable. The After-Hours Nurse provi des skilled nursing and hospice care to maximize the comfort and health of patients. MUST BE BILINGUAL IN CANTONESE Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 4:00pm - 12:30am Saturday & Sunday; 2:00pm - 10:30pm Location: San Francisco County and Marin County as needed By the Bay Health follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Provide continuing care to patients/families as requested and in compliance with agency policies and procedures and applicable federal and state regulations Under the guidance of the After-Hours Nurse, responsible for patients/families including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing services consistent with the plan of care Communicate with attending physicians and other community resources to report changes and coordinate optimal care and use of resources for the patient/ family Maintain regular communication with Team Leaders regarding patient/family status and unusual or potentially problematic patient/family issues Attend patient care conferences as requested Education/Experience: One year experience as a professional nurse in the past three years or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing Experience in acute care/ home health and/or hospice setting preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current license as a registered professional nurse in the State of California Public Health Nursing certification highly desirable HPNA certification preferred Pay Range: $54.00 - $66.20 hourly + $12.50/hr. differential + $1.92 per hour language differential By the Bay Health is proud to serve our community as an equal employment opportunity employer.
