Position Summary The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for driving quality assurance and continuous improvement through advanced data analysis across manufacturing, suppliers, and product lifecycle processes. This role ensures that products meet safety, regulatory, and customer requirements by leading root cause analysis, corrective actions, technical leadership, partners with Supplier Quality for supplier development, and quality system governance and compliance. The Senior QE partners with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations) to proactively prevent defects, reduce cost of poor quality, and deliver reliable, compliant products. Key Responsibilities Quality Systems & Compliance Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, S-A-01, industry regulations, and internal QMS requirements. Support compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements. Lead internal and external quality audits; support certification, regulatory inspections and Management Reviews. Maintain documentation (control plans, inspection plans, FMEAs, PPAPs, SPC, CAPA, NCRs) Supplier Quality Collaborate with Supplier Quality to identify supplier issues. Analyze info provided by suppliers to understand preventative actions in production. Manufacturing Quality Support MRB (Material Review Board) activities and disposition decisions. Monitor in-process quality, lead problem-solving (FAST) for recurring production issues. Lead Gemba walks to identify quality risks and drive improvements. Partner with production engineering to improve process capability Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop error-proofing (Poka - Yoke) and SPC controls on critical operations. Continuous Improvement Drive Lean Six Sigma projects to reduce waste and improve yield. Conduct data analysis of RTY, CoPQ, PPM, complaints, and audit findings. Facilitate Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA). Technically proficient AI for data collection, improvements and automating the analysis and reporting Training experience to coach team members as needed on OpEx, Lean, 6Sigma Cross-Functional Leadership Partner with Design Engineering on DFMEA, PFMEA, NPD and design for manufacturability. Provide training and coaching to operators, inspectors, and engineers on quality tools. Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) on quality standards, measurement systems, and risk management. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field. 10+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment. Strong data analysis skills; proficiency in AI and BI tools Proficiency in quality tools (FMEA, SPC, CAPA, audits). Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective actions, and RTY improvement. Experience with data systems (Intelex, Oracle, or similar). Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills. Preferred Qualifications ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt. Experience in dispenser, automotive, or industrial equipment manufacturing. Familiarity with Measurement Canada and other regulatory compliance. Knowledge of supplier quality processes and collaboration with SQEs. Key Success Metrics RTY improvement and sustainability across production lines. Timely closure of NCRs and support MRB actions as needed, and cycle times improvement. Reduction in customer complaints and field failures, better customer satisfaction. Effective support of NPI through lessons learned and risk mitigation. Positive audit results and compliance to ISO/regulatory standards. Closure of internal audits and CARs on a timely manner. Reduction in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). Performs vessel inspections under the direct supervision of a Senior Inspector. Certifies that field assignments conform to company policies and procedures as well as job specific instructions supplied by the Operations Department. As company field representative, acts in a professional and dignified manner to maintain the company's respected and trusted reputation. Minimum Requirements Requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with good math skills and a minimum three months of inspection experience. Must complete Inspector level training and pass corresponding theoretical tests and field evaluations. Must have or obtain IFIA certification after gaining at least six months of industry experience. Must maintain a valid Transportation Worker's Identification Card (TWIC). Possess and maintain a vehicle in good working order, a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and registration. Must be dependable, able to work independently and be able to effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with numerous clients (i.e., terminal and vessel/barge personnel). Must pass company defined physical requirements. Must meet and maintain site-specific requirements mandated by customers and/or terminals to have access to all facilities. Responsibilities As instructed by the Operations Department and under the strict guidelines described in the Inspection and ASTM/API manuals: Acts as a Company representative in the field. Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities as per company policies and procedures. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department to receive work orders and schedules. Effectively communicates all aspects of assigned job duties. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department, terminals, and vessel to avoid delays or conflicts. Obtains, labels and transports samples to the laboratory in a timely manner as required by each specific job assignment. Maintains assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensures equipment is properly calibrated and stored. Measures (gauge and temperature) products and performs all required field calculations per the API Standards, completes all required field documentation and submits reports to the Operations Department in a timely manner. Performs specialized inspection services such as loss control, wall washings or confined space entry upon receiving required training. Assists in the training of Probationary and Junior Inspectors. Fitness for Duty - Physical Demands Workday may consist of 8-12 hours; however, this can vary day to day or shift to shift. Much of the work is performed outdoors, wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and could include possible exposure to high and low temperatures for prolonged duration of time. Work may be performed during day or nighttime hours and may involve working alone.
