Pros of working at C&S Wholesale Grocers

There’s a lot of great examples of terrible managers. Extremely fast paced environment, so you can learn a lot in a short amount of time, and also develop multitasking skills. In addition, it’s known throughout the industry as extremely chaotic (which is true), so if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. The people tend to be vicious, so it shows you how to handle almost any scenario.

Cons of working at C&S Wholesale Grocers

Absolutely no one will take the time to train you, everything is sink or swim, EVERYTHING. They pay hourly people and everyone from ops manager and above better than they pay supervisors and shift managers. They also never listen to what you say, even if you’re right and can back everything up with facts or data. They completely overlook the people who are assets to the company and promote the ones who kiss a lot of ass. If you want to be in an environment where everyone knows there’s a plethora of problems, but doesn’t really do anything about them, this is the company for you. Don’t drink the Kool-Aid. Do your time and get out. They’ll give you a free turkey for Thanksgiving, but will then turn around and say you’re not getting a raise (or “merit increase” as they call them) because they can’t keep control of their finances. No one can stick to one thing, and there is absolutely NO COMMUNICATION, so if you’re management that’s on the floor and not holed up in an office all day, you’ll look like you don’t know what you’re talking about.
