Under general supervision, this position requires manual dexterity with both hands as well as an ability to distinguish various materials within a short period of time, The capability of standing for long periods of time while lifting, bending and turning from side to side repeatedly. The ability to use stairways and work at different platform heights. The ability to learn to separate types of recyclable materials successfully. Ability to perform daily cleaning (removing wrap-ables ) of equipment's sorting screens while working in a restricted space area using 5-point harnesses and while using tools such as utility knives, wire cutters etc. for material removal. Cell phone usage, i.e. talking, texting, voice mail, email, social media during working hours except for breaks and lunches are prohibited. Keep surrounding work area clean and free of trip hazards, to include but not limited to conveyors and sort lines. Assist in end of shift clean-up of assigned work areas. Assist other co-workers with heavy bulky items as needed. Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (steel toed boots, safety gloves, safety glasses, hard hat and vest). Participate in the safety programs and follow all the safety rules. Perform other duties as assigned by management such as traffic control, janitorial duties of bathrooms and offices, garbage disposal and overall outside maintenance cleanup.
