**Job Description**
**You will contribute by:**
- Picking various items by using order sheets or an audio headset
- Stacking items on a pallet for wrapping and loading at the bay doors
- Ensuring accuracy to orders while adhering to our safety standards
- Operating a double walkie-rider or electric pallet jack to remove cases of products from storage rack & place on pallet and apply selection labels to appropriate cases (not in all cases)
- Utilizing proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damages
- Informing Supervisor of any differences in case quantity and/or description
- Performing equipment inspections & completion of appropriate form
- Frequent safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
- Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California. Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento.
Pulls merchandise from stock for high-volume business delivery orders. Pulls and loads items onto the truck, and boxes small cooler and freezer items into milk crates. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtains pull sheet (list of number and location of items to pull for an order) from control desk.
Lifts pallet from low stack and sets on floor. Observes safety and security procedures, such as, performing daily safety checklist for electric pallet jacks prior to use, checking manual pallet jacks and pallets and tagging any with defects, using proper lifting technique.
Pulls pallet through warehouse, selects items from floor stock to assemble orders. Checks each pull to ensure correct item and quantity are pulled and that all items are in good condition.
Enlists forklift driver to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large quantity item orders. Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone. Ensures that forklift is always traveling at a safe speed to ensure the safety of customers and other employees.
When using the electric pallet jack, always follows the company's safety standards.
Writes quantity/weight of each item pulled down on pull sheet. Notes any approved substitutions and out of stock items. Signs off on completed pick sheet. Follows proper departmental procedures for paperwork and performance of duties.
Checks computer to research any items not found. Transfers completed order to audit area. Places pull sheet on top of pallet for auditors. Fills 10-25 orders (depending on order size) per shift.
Moves completed orders into truck for delivery.
Follows proper Business Delivery and general safety and security procedures and standards.
Keeps aisles clear of pallets and debris.
Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary. This includes but is not limited to stocking, cleaning, facing and returns of merchandise to shelves.

Take the temperatures of all inbound products, record all temperatures, document all product that is out of spec and report.
Acts as a yard jockey where applicable. Help to move trucks around yard, into loading docks, performs safety checks, secure trucks, and chocks wheels. (if applicable)

What You'll Need (Qualifications)
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Good understanding of basic math skills.
Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods.
