SS&C Technologies, Inc. (SS&C) was founded in 1986 by William C. Stone, who has remained the company's CEO and Chairman of the Board since inception.
Descendants of C include Concurrent C, Objective C, C*, C#, and the widely used C++. The programming language Java was introduced in 1994 as a simplified subset of C for deployment over the Internet and for use in portable devices with limited memory or limited processing capabilities.
In 1995, C Tech was separated into two corporations C Tech Defense Corporation which pursued C Tech’s defense technology and C Tech Development Corporation which is exclusively involved in software development.
Since 1995, SS&C has acquired 50+ businesses with products, services and technologies in existing or complementary vertical markets.
On March 31, 2010, SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. began trading on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the ticker symbol "SSNC".
