Your Impact
We are looking for a forward thinking and highly motivated team player to join our Accounting Strategy and Financial Reporting team. You will lead accounting research and operational analysis with a primary focus on M&A, strategic equity and debt investments, new accounting and reporting standards, and other special projects. You will also have an opportunity to support the SEC reporting and earnings release process, including overseeing aspects of financial statement disclosures and involvement with reporting non‑GAAP financial measures.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Strategy and Corporate Development team and, where applicable, strategically advise them on the accounting implications of unique transactions. Additionally, you will be involved in the development of clear, actionable accounting policies and informative trainings. You will also have an opportunity to present your research results and assessment findings and recommendations to senior leadership and key cross‑functional stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Work Location: This role is eligible to be based out of any of Axon's US hub offices (Atlanta/Peachtree Corners, Boston/Back Bay, NYC/Manhattan, Phoenix/Scottsdale, San Francisco/Presidio, Seattle/Downtown) and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in‑person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. Reports to: Vice President of Financial Reporting and Strategic Investments
Participate on cross‑functional teams as a representative of the Finance organization in evaluating the accounting for potential M&A and investment areas and ad‑hoc specific opportunities being considered by the Company.
Create and review technical memoranda, accounting policies, training materials, and other documentation supported and corroborated by research, analysis and concise conclusions.
Articulate issues and recommendations in a crisp and concise manner to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders to enable better decision‑making.
Establish, maintain, and provide expertise on current and upcoming U.S. GAAP, including topics specific to M&A, private and public equity, debt instruments, consolidation, VIE and equity‑method accounting, and the related presentation and disclosure requirements.
Lead and/or contribute to relevant projects on behalf of the accounting team, such as acquisitions or other strategic investments and new accounting pronouncements.
Work closely with other stakeholders to assist in the integration of acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
Assist in the identification and resolution of key U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting issues and formulation of findings into memos and disclosures.
Assist in the preparation and tie‑out of Forms 8‑K, 10‑Q, and 10‑K, external presentations and reports and peer disclosure benchmarking.
Periodically assist in the review and advise key leaders on significant contract implications.
Proactively monitor and operate a robust internal control environment in compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley or similar requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to support company initiatives.
What You Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar field required.
At least eight years of experience with a top‑tier accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred) or strategy firm. National Office and/or transactional advisory experience preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP (familiarity with ASC sections 805, 810, 815, 820, 606, 321, and 323 preferred) and SEC reporting requirements.
Ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare well‑written memorandums and presentations articulating these matters to well‑versed accountants and non‑finance stakeholders both internal and external to the organization.
Sarbanes‑Oxley Act (SOX) experience and the ability to implement business processes required to ensure compliance with its tenets.
Ability to leverage Artificial Intelligence tools (i.e. ChatGPT) to enhance productivity of yourself and the organization.
Superb attention to detail, strong planning and organization skills, and the ability to multi‑task, prioritize and deliver in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

The M&A Finance team for Other Bets is a critical function within Alphabet's finance organization, responsible for the financial oversight and execution of transactions across a portfolio of high‑growth companies.
In this role, you will not only have a strong finance, valuation and accounting background, but you will also harness this knowledge to navigate financial issues to find creative solutions for our Other Bets portfolio. You will serve as the primary finance partner for corporate finance activities, including managing valuations, leading financial workstreams for multi‑billion dollar divestitures, fundraises, and M&A investments while ensuring financial integrity and compliance illustratively.

Responsibilities
Partner with a broad set of Alphabet stakeholders leading the Alphabet financial workstreams for corporate transactions including fundraising, restructuring, multi‑stage de‑consolidation, divestitures, and spin‑outs.
Lead end‑to‑end 409A and quarterly/annual valuation processes, conducting detailed multi‑scenario financial modeling and market research to support valuation outcomes for portfolio companies.
Serve as the primary Alphabet finance partner for bet acquisitions and investments including advising and managing agreements structuring, financial diligence, legal agreements and transaction closing.
Lead accounting and tax analysis for Other Bet corporate finance activities, including specialized assessments (e.g., Held‑for‑Sale, impairment, deconsolidation, tax‑free spin) and managing core regulatory compliance (e.g., capitalization tables, Bet reporting).

Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, grants, and endowment accounting.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and FASB standards for nonprofit organizations.
Oversee preparation of annual audited financial statements and coordinate with external auditors.
Support CFO and program leadership with timely internal reporting and analysis for management and board use.
Maintain chart of accounts and financial structures aligned with the organization's programs and funding sources.
Grants, Compliance & Fund Accounting
Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for restricted, unrestricted, and temporarily restricted funds.
Oversee grant reporting and compliance in collaboration with development and program staff.
Monitor proper recording of contributions, pledges, and grant receivables.
Manage government and foundation grant compliance, including cost allocations and indirect cost rate calculations.
Internal Controls & Systems
Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure integrity of financial information.
Review and update accounting policies and procedures in compliance with GAAP, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and internal policies.
Oversee accounting systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar) and ensure integration with donor and HR systems.
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and transparency in financial operations.
Team Leadership
Supervise accounting staff, including Assistant Controllers, Grants Accountants, and Payroll/Accounts Payable staff.
Provide training, mentorship, and professional development to ensure a high-performing finance team.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Strategic & Operational Support
Partner with CFO and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
Provide financial analysis and insights to inform programmatic and operational decisions.
Support board committees (Finance, Audit, Investment) with timely, accurate financial reports and presentations.
Participate in system upgrades, audits, and organization-wide initiatives related to financial sustainability and transparency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a management role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting standards (FASB).
Experience with complex nonprofit organizations (multi-entity or multi-program) preferred.
Proven success managing audits and compliance for federal and private grants.
Expertise with accounting software (e.g., Blackbaud Financial Edge, Intacct, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

As we continue to scale, we're looking for a Director, Product Finance to join our dynamic team and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. The Director will oversee the analysis, reporting, and interpretation of critical financial metrics unique to SaaS businesses. This leadership role requires an in-depth understanding of SaaS business models, advanced analytics, and the ability to influence decision‑making at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SaaS metrics, investment banking, management consulting and competitive pricing and intelligence. We are scouting for a highly driven, articulate and ambitious individual who demonstrates strong leadership skills and will report to the CFO.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Drive with the CFO strategic initiatives including new product pricing, investment ROI, Corporate Development and M&A.
Partner with the CPO and CMO on NPI, product packaging, and marketing ROI.
Build on existing SaaS metrics and enhance their adoption to enable better data‑based decision making in the company.
Engage with senior leaders to lead and refine the development, tracking, and optimization of key SaaS metrics, including MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue), ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), LTV (Customer Lifetime Value), CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), Churn Rate, and NRR (Net Revenue Retention).
Provide actionable financial insights and strategic recommendations based on SaaS metrics.
Establish and maintain robust data pipelines, data governance frameworks, and reporting standards to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all SaaS metrics.
Work cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to gather data, align on assumptions, and ensure metrics are aligned with business strategy.
Conduct regular competitive benchmarking and market analysis to evaluate the company's financial standing relative to the industry.
Lead due diligence and financial modeling for potential investments, acquisitions or strategic partnerships.
Work with a team of analysts and data scientists to identify new metrics and tools in SaaS analytics that enhance decision‑making and performance tracking.
You'll be at the forefront of driving data‑informed strategies that shape the future of our SaaS products.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive background (10+ years) in strategic finance roles/corporate development/investment banking/management consulting/BU controller.
Extensive experience in SaaS metrics, finance analytics, data science/business intelligence, preference with a background in product finance.
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data visualization tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools).
Knowledge of competitor intelligence techniques and market analysis within the SaaS industry.
Understanding of cloud, content collaboration, data governance and security, is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and influence decision‑making at the executive level.
Strong problem‑solving skills and a strategic mindset for driving business performance.
Prefer finance educational qualifications along with a technology focus (through work experience or education).
Advanced degree and certifications, MBA, CPA, or CFA, is a plus.
Willingness to work 3 days per week in our Mountain View office.
COMPENSATION:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $210k - $270k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job‑related skills, knowledge, and/or experience.
