**Description/Job Summary** The cabinetmaker is responsible for the fabrication of custom exhibits, cabinetry and scenery using industrial woodworking machinery and materials according to specifications and drawings provided by the Manager of Fabrication and the project team. Reports to the Fabrication Department Manager **Responsibilities and Duties** + Construct and assemble cabinet components into quality exhibits and displays using shop drawings and verbal instructions + Display a proficiency using an array of specialty materials including but not limited to wood, plastics, high pressure laminates and metal + Ability to safely operate a variety of woodworking machinery including sliding table saw, compound miter saw, band saw, jointer, planer as well as various hand tools. + Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of all components using blueprints or design plans for reference. + Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used cost effectively to meet budgetary parameters. + Ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing craftmanship + Reinforce joints and structural attachments to maximize stability and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality + Ability to load and operate a CNC flatbed router + Maintain a safe working environment by maintaining a clean, organized workspace. + Operate forklift if required and with company provided training + Follow all applicable OSHA and corporate safety protocols and regulations. **Required Skills and Experience** + Minimum 5-10 years' experience in cabinetmaking, architectural millwork, production style casework, laminates, and solid surface fabrication + Working knowledge of CNC machining, basic metal fabrication and finishing methods required. **Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World** Aircraft Cabinet Maker **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** : Performs maintenance, modifications, and repair of furnishings, cabinets, tables, bulkheads, wood trim and other interior components. Uses maintenance instructions and technical data for inspection, maintenance, and repair on Special Mission aircraft. Evaluates quality cosmetic appearance and serviceability of all installed wood components and plastic laminate panels for scheduled repair. Works with wood, metal and composite materials. Uses and maintains power tools along with other shop equipment. Measures and cuts vinyl's, plastics, phenolics, composites and metals accurately and with minimal waste. Assembles pins and glues cabinet shells made from polymer and metal honeycombs with high degrees of accuracy. Properly installs drawer slides, hinges, latches and other aircraft specific hardware in subassemblies. Disassembles and reassembles aircraft cabinetry, strips laminate or veneer covering from existing cabinets. Cuts, fits and trims laminate or veneer coverings and repairs damaged cabinetry. Using samples and/or technical drawings, fabricates custom cabinetry. Upon request, designs and fabricates high-end, made to order interior accessories. Remanufactures interior cabinetry items that are beyond repair. Proficient in the use of FAA certified materials and supplies to accomplish cabinetry tasks for use aboard C-40, VC-25, C-32 and C-37 aircraft, among others. Performs preventive maintenance, adjusts and repairs industrial machines. Coordinates maintenance efforts with Production Supervisors and the Maintenance Operation Coordination Center. Documents discrepancies in the applicable form and inputs data in Maintenance Information System (MIS). Assists in monitoring bench and shop stocks. Orders materials and supplies as required. Ensures compliance with the safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOD prevention programs. Must be able to work day, swing, night, and/or weekend shifts as required. Shall perform other duties as may be assigned, to include TDY and travel. Must maintain training qualifications. **QUALIFICATIONS:** Must have an outstanding knowledge of cabinetmaking and repair procedures. A minimum of 3 years cabinetmaking experience, preferably working on aircraft interiors is desired. Experience in aircraft cabinetry local manufacturing procedures and installation of components into aircraft using approved attachment points is desired. A working knowledge of procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials is required. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Required to pass Pulmonary Fit Test and wear breathable oxygen mask in the performance of certain maintenance operations. The ability to read and interpret data is required. Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required. Duties may involve working with oils, lubricants, and chemical cleaners and solutions. Must show leadership abilities and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and Government flightline driver's license.
