Full-time Description EOA Technologies is seeking a Cable Technician on one of our subcontracts. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. You will be responsible for the installation, routing, and termination of various types of cables, including fiber optic and data, in commercial and industrial settings. The Cable Technician will work under the supervision of a Foreman or Project Manager and collaborate with other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects. Key Responsibilities: Cable Installation: Pull, route, and install various types of cables, including fiber optic, coaxial, and Ethernet, through walls, ceilings, and conduit pathways in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. Cable Termination: Perform precise terminations of fiber optic and copper cables, including the installation of connectors, patch panels, and other termination hardware. Ensure that terminations meet industry standards for performance and reliability. Preparation and Setup: Prepare work areas by identifying and marking locations for cable installation and termination, ensuring all tools and materials are ready for use. Equipment Operation: Safely operate equipment such as fiber optic and copper testing equipment, fiber optic cleavers, crimping tools, and other specialized tools required for cable installation and termination. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Quality Assurance: Inspect and test installed and terminated cables to ensure proper connections, performance, and adherence to specifications. Use testing equipment such as OTDRs, cable testers, and certifiers. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including cable routes, lengths, termination points, and test results. Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, communicating with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate efforts and resolve any installation or termination issues. Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues related to cable installation and termination, including obstructions, cable integrity problems, and signal loss. Requirements To be considered for this position you must have the following: Possess an active Top Secret security clearance. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Previous experience in cable pulling, termination, or a related field is preferred. On-the-job training will be provided for those with less experience. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 44 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces. Must be able to work at heights above 20', which includes climbing a ladder, and in various weather conditions. Technical Skills: Proficient in cable pulling techniques, and cable termination, including fiber optic splicing and copper crimping. Familiarity with testing equipment and tools used in the industry. Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license. Certifications in Single Man Lift, fiber optic and copper cabling (e.g., BICSI, FOA) and OSHA 10 or 30 certification are a plus. This role involves working at heights to install and service antennas, radios, and other wireless infrastructure components. Ensuring all internal processes, procedures, and contractual repair timelines are adhered to. The position will be based at the customer site with a requirement to travel to additional sites as needed. Responsibilities Serve as an Ambassador for ViaPath by fostering a positive relationship with the customer and site POC Work at the direction of the Field Service Manager (“FSM”) responsible for the assigned sites in coordination with the facilities. Walk the facility, Pods and Units daily to include tasks such as inspecting tablets and initiating trouble tickets for issues as needed and ensure access points are functioning and report to FSM with issues. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Project Manager and/or the Tier 5 Installation Technician in analyzing project installation requirements, including labor, components, and cabling; Assist the Project Manager and/or the Tier 5 Installation Technician to determine scheduling and installation team requirements for the project; Assist the primary installation lead (Project Manager and/or Tier 5 Installation Technician) to coordinate and assist the efforts of project installation teams; Ensure proper installation, programming, commissioning, testing, setup and troubleshooting of the project AVL and control components; Regularly communicate project status with the Project Manager and/or Tier 5 Installation Technician; Assist in designs of future projects as needed; Prepare upcoming project components in the warehouse; Assist in live event productions performed by Ambient Productions; Participate in mandatory industry, safety or manufacturer training; Uphold the Core Values and embody the culture of Ambient Productions; All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Excellent work ethic, attitude, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Professionalism and strong customer service are absolute requirements; Knowledge of standard safety requirements is required; Previous hands-on installation experience with live AVL systems; Advanced understanding of professional AVL systems, terminology, and commonly used components; Advanced understanding of AVL signal flow and routing; Advanced understanding of projection, video, and display platforms; Advanced understanding of audio techniques and ability to run a sound console; Demonstrate high attention to detail and proper installation techniques; Minimum one year experience leading and coordinating AVL installation teams or similar is preferred; Advanced understanding of required tools and proper use of them for specific tasks related to AVL; Strong working knowledge of Vectorworks drawings is preferable; Experience with reading, interpreting, and implementing design docs and site plan drawings; Experience configuring basic networking related to AVL integration; Understand the correct cabling requirements for AVL systems; Advanced understanding of termination methods and procedures for all cabling connections related to AVL Installs (XLR, BNC, DMX, RJ45, IDC, Speakon, Powercon, True 1, speaker and line level, etc.); Meet all other Ambient Installation Technician Tier 1 through 4 requirements. Physical and Travel Requirements This position requires the employee to be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to reach above shoulder level; to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; to climb stairs and ramps; to climb ladders and perform job requirements from high lift equipment up to 50 feet above the ground. This position requires in-state travel up to 75% of the time with occasional out-of-state travel.
