Leads will support all areas to include plan, implement, coordinate and supervision of all electrical operations, maintenance, and energy management programs for a critical facilities environment. Ensure conformance with all Change control development, approvals, and execution. Routinely performs all work in strict accordance with governing MOP/SOP/ERP procedures, and maintenance work instructions. This role requires a good working knowledge of fiber optics, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various environments. Key Responsibilities: Scheduling: Work with the local customer dispatch/office to get as many job assignments as possible for the day up to several days. Equipment and Materials Pickup: Pickup materials and equipment for each assigned job with the goal of picking up several jobs at a time. Installation: Install ONT to residential and commercial locations as per specifications and standards. The fiber optic subscriber drop will already be place/buried and will typically be installed to the AC power side of the location. Splicing and Testing: Perform fusion splicing of the fiber optic drop cable, ensuring minimal signal loss and optimal performance. Testing will be performed with an OPM (Optical Power Meter). Labeling and Stowing: Perform any required labeling and neatly stow the fiber cable while always observing the minimum bending radius. Troubleshooting: Ensure that if there is a signal issue that the signal is bad leaving the FST Port to remove the fiber drop from being considered the problem. The customer will troubleshoot issues on their network, but every effort must be made to ensure that the newly spliced drop is not the problem (if the signal is good leaving the FST port and bad at the input of the ONT then there is an issue with the drop or drop connectors). The minimum and maximum optical signal levels will be provided to the technician. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, splicing activities, and testing results for quality assurance and reporting a required. Collaboration: Work with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to coordinate installation efforts and ensure timely project completion. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards while working in the field and with fiber optic equipment. Customer Interaction: Always present yourself in a professional way as to not only represent yourself, but GTA and the GTA customer. Technician Appearance: The technician shall maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance. The starting rate range is $27-31 per hour W2 plus PTO , health coverage- Candidates must be willing to be onsite during the core hours of 7:00 am-3:30pm (approximately)- The contract is scheduled for 6 months with possible hire options; the conversion salary is $55,000 - $60,000 Main Duties/Required Skills: . Security Technicians to support the development of the security division. Technicians that have previous commercial security experience to include cabling rough in, cable terminations (both mechanical and solder), device trim out (doors, access card readers, cameras, etc.) Install security devices and hardware (DPS, card readers, REX, mag-locks, strikes, cameras) Installation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment. Delivery Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders. Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness. Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices. Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles. Reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation/redline work. Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies. Main Duties / Required: Knowledge of inscribing IP addresses on cameras Knowledge of the Lenel brand Expertise with security related items( DPS, Card Readers, Cameras, Locks, Cabling) Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools. Accept responsibility of outcome of work performed. Must understand customer service. Clear understanding of job safety requirements. Be able to read and understand job floor plan. Should be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing. Should be able to pull all types of low voltage cable. Should understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling. Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize projects and service jobs. Possess skill to layout MDF and IDF closets, be able to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations. Capable of working in Data Centers. Shall be able to work on analog, DSL and be able to extend T1 lines. BE able to patch network equipment. Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting. Reports to Operations Manager and take daily directions from Technician, Technician II, Lead Technicians, Senior Technicians and Advance Senior Technicians. Troubleshooting of copper and fiber cables Work on analog lines and extend T1 connections Possess skills to layout MDF and IDF closets Direct/supervise others to perform tasks Decommission fiber trunks and jumpers Troubleshoot fiber circuits (Versiv OLTS, OTDR) Perform fiber splicing (OSP, ISP, SM, MM) Conduct and supervise Service Swaps Nice to have Skills: LEB Certifications desired not required BICSI and industry Certifications are desired not required Key Skills Data Center Cabling Security OSHA10 Aerial Lift Fiber Cable Technician Cat5 Bachelor's Degree Requirement: No

    Our client is seeking a Construction Materials Tester in Virginia Beach, VA Duties and Responsibilities: Performing field observations and testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials on complex, multimillion dollar projects. Supervise Staff Technicians on projects requiring multiple Technicians. Assist with training of Staff Technicians. Assist with resolution of technical problems. Communicate with contractors and project managers regarding project status and requirements. Attend project related meetings with clients, owners, and/or government agencies.
