SUMMARY
Maintains and cleans guest room and offices, rest rooms, locker rooms, lobby, meeting/banquet rooms and other public areas. Reports any maintenance issues to Supervisory staff.
Receives work assignments and schedules from housekeeping supervisor and staff.
Scrubs guest and employees rest room lavatory walls, floors, mirrors, fixtures, sinks, vanities, toilets and urinals. Replenishes rest room supplies. Records tasks performed on cleaning log posted in each rest room.
Spot cleans carpet, upholstery, floors, walls, ceilings, draperies, windows, woodwork, patios and room accessories.
Sweeps, scrubs and mops public areas and stairwells.
Maintains fitness center, pool area, wind break, courtyard and patio furniture in guest areas.
Picks up dirty linen and trash from housekeeper carts.
Washes windows, screens, sills, exterior lighting, railings, ice machines and sky lights.
Empties, cleans and refills sand in ash urns. Empties, cleans and transport waste basket trash to disposal area.
Stocks linen rooms with glasses, utensils and amenities.
Maintains cleanliness of meeting room carpets, floors, walls, doors, ceilings, draperies, windows and woodwork.
Provides support to housekeeping staff.
Assists guests as needed by transporting luggage, delivering items to rooms (i.e. roll away, cribs, faxes) and showing rooms.
Other duties may be assigned.
OUTCOME
Clean hotel facilities and positive staff attitudes will strongly influence guest impressions of the total organization. A satisfied guest is a repeat customer.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications
* High School diploma/GED or equivalent required
* Previous hotel cleaning experience is preferred
* Must have Exceptional guest service skills
* Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities
* Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience
* Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals
* Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance
Work Environment:
* Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a hotel setting, but there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Guest Room Attendant cleans guest rooms in their assigned area with the intention of removing all evidence of previous guests. The attendant ensures all amenities are present and displayed in the appropriate manner.
Clean rooms according to procedures stated in the department guidelines
Complete turn down service as assigned
Obtain needed cleaning supplies from supply room.
Obtain computer printout of room assignments for their station.
Sign for keys prior to starting shift.
Required to empty bag on vacuum cleaner daily.
At the end of shift, turn in keys, supplies, and signed computer assignment sheet to the appropriate locations.
Turn in all items found in the halls or left in check out rooms in a timely manner.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
High School Diploma, GED, or Six months to one-year previous experience as a Guest Room Attendant is preferred.
Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work well as a team member.
Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be able to work any day of the week.
Must present a well-groomed appearance.
Ability to read, write and speak in English
A FEW MORE THINGS:
Works inside assigned area of the hotel. Must be able to use elevators frequently and work in a high-rise hotel.
Must be able to push and pull 150 pound carts. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds.
Able to stand, stoop, bend and crouch to clean low and high areas of hotel room such as: floors, base boards, bathtubs, drains, toilets, shower walls, pictures, mirrors and shower rods.
Able to walk up and down stairs. Must be able to operate a vacuum cleaner and mop.
Able to tolerate cleaning chemicals without developing an allergic reaction.
Able to fold linen, bed sheets blankets, bedspreads and pillowcases.
