Nooksack Northwood Casino is looking for a Part-Time Cage Cashier!

We’re looking for a Cage Cashier who promotes positive customer/employee relations, while complying with company and department policies and procedures.
*Works various shifts and days including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements:
Obtain and maintain a valid Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency and Class III WA State Gaming Commission licenses. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Demonstrated writing and English comprehension skills. Demonstrated computer application skills. Demonstrated positive customer service skills
Working conditions:
May work in loud, crowded, and cigarette smoke-filled casino environment. Monitored by surveillance cameras. Stands for long periods of time.
Preferred:
Previous casino experience.

Schedule: 7:00AM - 3:00PM or 12:00PM - 8:00PM.

Pay rate: starting at $16.75.

Responsibilities

• Handle large sums of money in an accurate manner, including validating tickets for guests and paying accordingly, distributing cash to associates for jackpots and hand-pays, processing and verifying travelers checks, providing check approval, check cashing service and cash advance services.
• Maintain an accurate count of bank.
• Perform regular cash buys to Cage Supervisor.
• Issue and redeem chips, process chip fills and credits.
• Perform as a team member and assist fellow employees to ensure a smooth operation.
• Follow all departmental and state policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience handling large amounts of money.
• 6 months' cash handling experience preferred.
• Excellent organization and guest service skills.
• Excellent math skills including addition and subtraction.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift or carry 30 pounds.
• Exposure to secondhand smoke.
• Exposure to high volume noise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Count drawer at start of shift, verify cash amount and document according to standard procedure.
• Issue chips and token to customers for cash.
• Receive payments for markers and record in the computer system.
• Send paid markers to the bank.
• Redeem complimentary checks in accordance with standard procedures.
• Redeem chips and tokens for cash at customer request.
• Cash all checks within standard procedures.
• Accept and redeem payments for front money for safekeeping.
• Verify and process vault buys for gaming funds or fills.
• Receive hard count and soft count drops into the vault.
• Prepare deposits to the bank.
• Balance the drawer at the end of the shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
:

Equivalent to a high school diploma with 9-12 months of cash handling experience is preferred.
