    Carl D’Alessandro is president of Harris Corporation’s Critical Networks segment. In this role, he is responsible for business strategy, financial performance, successful execution and growth for Critical Networks, which provides managed services supporting air traffic management, energy and maritime communications, ground network operation and sustainment, and highvalue engineering services. Prior to being named to his current position, D’Alessandro was vice president and general manager of Harris’ Civil business unit, supporting missioncritical communications and information solutions for the global air traffic management, weather, and energy resource extraction markets. Previously, D’Alessandro was vice president of Advanced Programs and Technology, responsible for sales, marketing, business development, strategy, and research and development. He supported all customers including the Intelligence Community, Defense, and Civil agencies of the U.S. government and their international counterparts. Prior to that, D’Alessandro led growth activities for the Civil business unit and before that he was corporate vice president of Technology and Government Segment Growth Programs, responsible for technology development and coordination, commercialization of government-funded technology, and corporate growth initiatives. D’Alessandro joined Harris in 1984 as an integration and test engineer. After a brief departure to ARINC Research from 1989 to 1992, he rejoined Harris and went on to hold positions of increasing responsibility in development engineering, engineering management, and program management. D’Alessandro has a bachelor of engineering degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College. He is also a graduate of The Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and the Harris Leadership Directions program at Darden. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Air Traffic Control Association, the NextGen Advisory Committee, and the Dean’s Advisory Board for the University of Central Florida College of Engineering and Computer Science.
