Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ResearchTechnician with extensive hands-on experience in insect cell culture (Sf9 and Hi5) using the baculovirus expression system and mammalian cell culture across diverse cell lines.
The successful candidate will support ongoing structural and functional studies of protein complexes by producing high-quality recombinant proteins in both insect and mammalian systems.
Essential Job Duties Generate bacterial, insect cell, and mammalian expression constructs (basic molecular cloning techniques required).
Maintain and passage insect cells (Sf9 and Hi5) and mammalian cell cultures under sterile conditions.
Generate and amplify recombinant baculoviruses for protein expression in Sf9 and Hi5 cells.
Transfect and maintain various mammalian cell lines (e.
g.
, HEK293, HTC116, Vero, HeLa) for transient and stable expression.
Optimize expression protocols for high-yield protein production in both systems.
Perform small- and large-scale protein expression experiments.
Harvest cells and assist with downstream, protein purification (modern chromatography methods).
Perform immunofluorescence microscopy to assess protein localization.
Conduct SDS-PAGE gel analysis and western blotting, as part of routine experiments.
Maintain detailed records of all experiments, protocols, and cell line inventories.
Participate in general lab maintenance (organization, restocking, and generating shared reagents).
Support researchers with other tasks as needed.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
2 years of hands-on experience with Sf9 and/or Hi5 cell culture and baculovirus-based protein expression.
Proficiency in aseptic technique and routine mammalian cell culture.
Familiarity with restriction enzyme cloning, western blotting, SDS-PAGE gel analysis, immunofluorescence microscopy, protein purification.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications Experience scaling up insect and/or mammalian cultures using flasks.
Familiarity with serum-free media, virus titering, and MOI optimization.
Understanding of basic molecular cloning and transfection techniques.
Protein purification abilities are a plus but not necessary.
Prior experience in academic or industrial protein production environments.

Essential Job Duties Assist graduate students, postdocs, and research staff in their projects.
Design and perform exceptionally high-quality experiments.
Perform automated DNA and RNA extractions from many different sample types, including clinical samples (e.

, saliva, swabs, urine, blood, biopsies).
Perform nucleic acid amplification analyses using standard techniques such as qPCR, dd PCR, RT-qPCR, and RT-dd PCR.
Assist with Illumina and Nanopore sequencing library preparations for 16S rRNA gene, shotgun metagenomic sequencing, and RNA sequencing.
Perform critical sequencing-library quality-control steps.
Perform basic microbiology techniques such as bacterial culture, making media, and handling glycerol stocks with aseptic techniques.
Analyze raw data and generate figures.

The incumbent serves as a Senior MR technologist performing advanced MR research studies in the UCSF Human Imaging Research Core, solving procedural and technical problems as they arise, and assisting the researchers in analyzing and archiving MR image data.
The incumbent will be the Senior MR technologist performing imaging studies in the research environment. This includes injections, safe handling and proper disposal of contrast agents possibly including radiopharmaceuticals.
The position is responsible for helping to expand successful research programs at the China Basin imaging center and at Byers Hall. This includes outreach to new investigators, planning new studies, and interaction with the clinic scheduling to increase usage of the MR. This requires flexibility and a collaborative work approach.
The Department of Radiology is a 24-hour, seven day a week operation providing imaging services for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist provides technical knowledge and/or coordinates the delivery of MRI services. Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position will operate a variety of equipment including high field strength magnets and support systems with MRI safety as a priority. The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for patient coordination, acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data. This position is responsible for training new staff as well as existing staff on new technologies. The incumbent will maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturer's specifications, reporting all problems appropriately. Incumbent may be required to oversee provision of MRI services and staffing coverage in absence of the MR Supervisor.
The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist is an ARRT licensed technologist who maintains an ARRT sponsored MRI certification and has more than 3 years of MRI experience.
The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist will comply and adhere to department protocols, UCSF policies and procedures, Department of Radiology policies and procedures and other applicable work rules and regulations. Incumbent works independently and under general supervision. The technologist must act with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum radiographic quality. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in a calm manner even in stressful situations. Incumbent will interact with Radiologist, Clinicians, and peers in a cooperative, harmonious manner for maximum effectiveness. The incumbent serves as a Senior MR technologist performing advanced MR research studies in the UCSF Human Imaging Research Core, solving procedural and technical problems as they arise, and assisting the researchers in analyzing and archiving MR image data.
The incumbent will be the Senior MR technologist performing imaging studies in the research environment. This includes injections, safe handling and proper disposal of contrast agents possibly including radiopharmaceuticals.
The position is responsible for helping to expand successful research programs at the China Basin imaging center and at Byers Hall. This includes outreach to new investigators, planning new studies, and interaction with the clinic scheduling to increase usage of the MR. This requires flexibility and a collaborative work approach.
The Department of Radiology is a 24-hour, seven day a week operation providing imaging services for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist provides technical knowledge and/or coordinates the delivery of MRI services. Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position will operate a variety of equipment including high field strength magnets and support systems with MRI safety as a priority.
The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for patient coordination, acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data. This position is responsible for training new staff as well as existing staff on new technologies. The incumbent will maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturer's specifications, reporting all problems appropriately. Incumbent may be required to oversee provision of MRI services and staffing coverage in absence of the MR Supervisor.
The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist is an ARRT licensed technologist who maintains an ARRT sponsored MRI certification and has more than 3 years of MRI experience.
The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist will comply and adhere to department protocols, UCSF policies and procedures, Department of Radiology policies and procedures and other applicable work rules and regulations. Incumbent works independently and under general supervision. The technologist must act with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum radiographic quality. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in a calm manner even in stressful situations. Incumbent will interact with Radiologist, Clinicians, and peers in a cooperative, harmonious manner for maximum effectiveness. The Micheli Lab is seeking a Research Assistant, a Life Science Research Professional 1 level, to join the marine community ecology lab at the Hopkins Marine Station doing a variety of tasks ranging from computer work and lab work to fieldwork. Other responsibilities include working under the supervision of Dr. Fiorenza Micheli and supporting graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in her lab on a variety of projects. In addition to supporting Dr. Micheli in the management of the lab, other responsibilities include ordering supplies, maintaining equipment and databases, helping organize meetings, contributing to reports, and preparation of visuals and communication materials.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Plan and perform experiments in support of research projects in lab and/or field based on knowledge of scientific theory. Interpret and perform basic analyses of results.
* Review literature on an ongoing basis to remain current with new procedures and related research.
* Offer suggestions regarding modifications to procedures and protocols in collaboration with senior researchers.
* Maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes.

A major emphasis of the lab is defining the diversity, regulation, and functional specialization of natural killer (NK) cells in response to allografts and xenografts. Position Function

Position Summary: The Department of Communication is seeking Physicist: Research Scientist.
A physicist is sought for an interdisciplinary study of observer effects as it relates to the quantum measurement problem. The study will be a comprehensive assessment of observer effects in wave function collapse but will uniquely include psychological perspectives and methods in the development of research designs. The primary investigator will be a psychologist and the study will be conducted within the Institute for Research in Social Sciences at Stanford University.
The position will require that the researcher have a strong background in experimental methods, necessary to execute the Tonomura double slit design (using a BBO crystal) and the Mach-Zehnder interferometer design. A strong background in the quantum measurement problem would be desirable.
The project will begin with a comprehensive review of the literature-both theoretical and experimental-on variables influencing wave function collapse and developing a plan for replicating or testing a wide range of them. It will then develop and apply methods for assessing and controlling variables related to observation, drawing on ideas from psychology as well as quantum physics. Data will be analyzed, and results will be published in peer reviewed outlets.
The researcher will devote 80% of their time to the research project. The other 20% can be devoted to other research interests and taking advantage of other opportunities at Stanford University.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Under supervision, performs the full range of duties from specimen procurement through specimen and/or blood/blood component processing/handling and performs a wide variety of repetitive technical procedures and/or standardized tests according to established protocols. Assists in equipment maintenance, quality control, allocation/ issuing products such as blood/blood components and tissue for transfusion medicine, inventory control, and performs all clerical functions including but not limited to data entry, maintaining records, answering phones and providing results.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* One year clinical laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
* Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
* Must be willing to provide weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis and variable shift assignment(s) as needed
* Good communication skills
* Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
* Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
* Minimum 16 units of applicable Science (such as Chemistry, Biology) and Algebra at the college level
* Good computer skills including knowledge of various software applications
