2014

The company was formed in April 2014 as a corporate spin-off of Occidental Petroleum.

2018

In April 2018, the company acquired the interest in the Elk Hills Oil Field previously held by Chevron Corporation for $460 million and 2.85 million shares.

2020

In July 2020, the company filed bankruptcy with $5 billion in debt; it emerged from bankruptcy in October 2020.

2021

Delivered more than 5 billion gallons of treated, reclaimed water for California agriculture in 2021, sustaining our role as a net water supplier.

2022

In April 2022, announced new and updated ESG goals on methane, freshwater usage, ethnic and gender diversity in leadership, community giving and executive pay.
