As an employee of the facility Level of Care (LOC) Registry, a Psychiatric Technician Trainee (PTT) may be requested to work AM/PM/NOC shift, any day of the week and on any residence at Porterville Developmental Center. Under the direction of Unit Supervisor or SRPT/NPIC, the PTT assists in providing direct care, treatment and active treatment for the clients where they are assigned.
Effective October 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave.

Under close supervision provided by a Financial Accountant II, the Accountant Trainee utilizes knowledge of Government Codes, fiscal accounting rules and regulations contained in the State Administrative Manual, the Uniform Codes Manual, governmental accounting principles and procedures, and procedures prescribed by the State Controller's Office (SCO) or as required by law. The incumbent, operating at the entry and trainee level, performs professional accounting work in the establishment and maintenance of accounts and records of the State's Central Control Accounting System, the SCO Fiscal System (Legacy) and/or the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) while receiving training and develops interpersonal skills by contact with internal and external business partners.
Duties Performed:

* Read, review, and interpret less complex law and legislation and prepare the necessary accounting transactions to implement the provisions.

Do you want an exciting, dynamic position working with one of California's most charismatic wildlife species? Do you want to learn field biology skills as well as how to resolve human-wildlife conflicts? The Department of Fish and Wildlife's Northern Region is seeking a motivated individual to assist with the state's growing Gray Wolf conservation program.
This position entails assisting the state wolf biologists in determining the distribution and abundance of Gray Wolves in northern California and with efforts to prevent Gray Wolf conflicts with livestock production. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience working independently and as part of a small team, driving 4-wheel drive and/or all-terrain vehicles, setting up and monitoring trail cameras, surveying for Gray Wolf tracks, scats and other sign, and deploying non-lethal deterrents measures to prevent Gray Wolf conflicts with livestock.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with ground-based surveys to document the distribution and abundance of Gray Wolves, including camera traps, hand-held telemetry, and survey for tracks, scat and other sign.
Assist staff biologists with Gray Wolf capture and telemetry collaring efforts.
Collect, manage and summarize field data, including camera trap videos and biological samples.
Assist with investigations of Gray Wolf sightings and depredations.
Assist with the deployment of non-lethal measures to deter Gray Wolves from livestock areas.

Working Conditions
The incumbent works in an office setting with workstations and private offices. Under the close supervision of the Sr. Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the Accountant Trainee ensures completion of the Inmate Trust Accounting/Cashier Office duties at California State Prison-Sacramento. Process incarcerated people's payroll for support, Inmate Welfare Fund, and contracting agencies, which include the collection of incarcerated people's pay calculation forms at institution sites and audit calculation forms for accuracy. Prepares and enters batches for incarcerated people's pay. Prepares and audits incarcerated people's fundraisers in TRACS and prepares checks for signature. Post charges (a withdraw or a hold against funds) to incarcerated people's accounts for payment of various payment types which may include postage, notary charges, copy charges, charges for damages, family visits and legal supplies. Maintains institutional visiting photo project and prepares reconciliation of funds received. Prepares weekly bank deposits and gives to the supervisor for verification. Process's Federal Filing fees. Debit card custodian.
Organizes and distributes warrants to state employees for master payroll, overtime, salary advances and adjustments, salary, and travel advances.
Process appeals for incarcerated people at the first level of review, which involves analyzing account postings and research to cite the applied rules and regulations mandated by law and the State Administrative Manual, interviews incarcerated people, counselors, and other employees for investigative purposes. Reviews and verifies incarcerated person's account information to respond to counselors, correctional offices, incarcerated people, and other institutions. Process informal appeals (CDCR 22).
Attends various meetings and utilize the TRACS system to obtain information related to incarcerated people's disbursements.
Other duties as required. Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to: adhere to Department policies, rules and procedures; submit administrative requests including leave, travel, and training in a timely and appropriate manner; accurately report time, and submit timesheets by the due date.
