Under the direction of the Administrator I in the Personnel Services Section, and as a member of the multidivisional consolidated timekeeping team, the incumbent performs a variety of the most difficult duties and is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned tasks. The incumbent performs all duties relating to timekeeping functions for various business areas within Franchise Tax board and assists with various clerical duties, including filing, typing, copying and completing and processing documents. The scope of duties requires the incumbent to work independently, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality in performing assigned duties in alignment with the operational needs of these business areas.

Working Conditions
* This position is eligible for limited remote working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. This is subject to change.

About this Role:
The role of the Mailroom Office Assistant is to maintain the functions of the Third Party Liability and Recovery Division (TPLRD) mailroom. The Office Technician (Typing) will be directed by the Director of Dietetics in Nutrition Services at the Department of State Hopsitals - Atascadero (ASH). The Office Support Technician plays a vital role in supporting CDPH's mission and strategic goals by providing high-level administrative support to CPR. This position is essential to the success of emergency preparedness and response efforts, with responsibilities spanning recruitment coordination, document management, training, logistics, and general administrative operations.
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Administrative Unit and CPR staff.
* Manage the CPR-OT inbox and coordinate calendars for Division Chiefs and staff.
* Support recruitment efforts by scheduling interviews, preparing interview materials, and assisting with onboarding.
* Serve as badge coordinator for CPR, handling badge issuance, modifications, and deactivations.
* Maintain, edit and track correspondence, reports, documents, and procedural manuals.
* Maintain CPR's electronic and physical filing systems, including personnel, training, and budget documents.

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit (04), and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by (03) percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.
Under the supervision of the Chief, Workforce Development and Talent Management, the Office Technician (OT) (Typing) provides clerical support services for the assigned Chief and related unit tasks. Position is for a 10 month school year with eligibility for an additional 2 months to be paid by State Special School Benefits through Unemployment Insurance. This is the first of two entry-level classes in the series. Positions are responsible for meeting basic physical care needs of students at a school for the deaf. Under general supervision, incumbents supervise and provide surveillance over a group of students in a dormitory setting just before, during, and just after sleeping periods. Incumbents also assist students needing help with medical problems, sleeplessness, emotional distress, behavioral problems, etc.; provide quiet leisure activities for students who are awake; and record anecdotal and numerical information. Incumbents may assist students with early morning preparations for school, supervise the dining rooms, monitor student performance of housekeeping tasks, keep routine records, prepare materials, or perform tasks which assist other staff with school activities and programs. Little or no supervision of individual student or group activities is assigned.
