Position Summary
The General Counsel serves as the chief legal advisor to the Board of Governors, the Chancellor, and Chancellor's Office staff. The General Counsel is a key member of the Executive Cabinet, contributing to the development and implementation of agency policies and initiatives. The General Counsel provides strategic leadership for the Office of General Counsel, overseeing its legal, management, and policy functions, and plays a central role in addressing complex and high-impact issues affecting the California Community Colleges and education system.

Working Conditions
This position is hybrid (in-office/telework). Incumbent may be required to report to the office or designated locations at any time. Telework arrangements can be modified or canceled. Work requires the use of a personal computer 65-85% of the time.

Specific duties include planning, assigning, and directing criminal, civil, and special investigations; organizing and conducting the more difficult, complex, or sensitive investigations; reviewing time and task accounting systems, ProLaw database updates, investigative reports, and search and arrest warrant affidavits. Serve search and arrest warrants and conduct covert and surveillance operations. Responsible for coordinating the casework of team members with the assigned DAG and Investigative Auditor. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and collaborative leader to serve as the Assistant Division Chief (ADC) of the Monitoring and Laboratory Division (MLD). MLD is responsible for providing high-quality air monitoring, laboratory analysis, and data to support CARB's mission to protect public health and the environment. The incumbent will assist MLD's Division Chief in planning, organizing, and directing the work of MLD's program staff.
MLD's team of highly skilled and innovative scientists and engineers develop, plan, and implement a wide variety of traditional and cutting-edge field and laboratory programs, including operation of statewide air quality monitoring networks, community and source- oriented air monitoring, emissions testing, certification programs, regulatory development, and compliance testing.
The ADC will be responsible for advising and assisting the division chief in providing executive leadership to develop and implement of policies, plans, and technical programs that produce high quality and scientifically sound measurements to accurately and appropriately characterize air quality and emissions in support of CARB's strategic program objectives related to ambient air quality, community air protection, and transition to zero emission vehicles and technologies. Working Conditions

FISH AND WILDLIFE TECHNICIAN

Under the supervision of the Sr. ES Supervisor, the incumbent assists with maintenance, enhancement and restoration of wildlife habitat, does repairs and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure, assists with public use opportunities and the public hunt program. Additionally, incumbent will act as lead person for seasonal employees in performing habitat restoration and maintenance activities on the wildlife area and in a hunter check station. Incumbent will service, maintain and operate vehicles and various tractors and farming Implements. Incumbent will write reports, collate public hunt data, and collect information and maintain accurate records on vehicle and tractor usage and herbicide use.
This position is a 12-month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Working Conditions
Work may require working outdoors during adverse weather such as rain, cold and heat.
Ability to work outside in extreme temperatures, walk or wade on uneven and muddy terrain, deal with mosquitoes, ticks and other stinging/biting insects, rattlesnakes and other wildlife. Involves sitting some of the time, but may involve walking or standing for extended periods at a counter area when receiving the public at hunter check stations. Work activities may include wading, hiking in hilly terrain, repetitive lifting and other physically challenging duties. No State Housing is available.
This position may require working weekends, holidays, non-traditional hours and outdoors during adverse weather.

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 20, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.
Under the clinical direction of the Chief Medical Executive, and the direct administrative supervision of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF), the Senior Radiologic Technologist, CF (Specialist), performs the most difficult technical radiological work and provides lead direction to the Radiologic Technologists, CF, lower-level staff, and/or the incarcerated workers. Maintains order and supervises the conduct of the incarcerated and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current valid certificate as a certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology issued by the California State Department of Health Services. (Applicants who are in the process of securing such certification will be admitted to the examination but must possess such certificate before they will be considered eligible for appointment.)
Either I
One year of experience performing the duties of a Radiologic Technologist, Correctional Facility, in the California state service.
Or II
Three years of experience, including training in radiologic techniques and methods, under an accredited medical radiologist. (Successful completion of the work required for a graduate nurse may be substituted for one year of this required experience and training.)
Or III
One year of experience as a radiologic technologist and successful completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, in collaboration with the American College of Radiology.

Region II provides safe and secure housing for females with opportunities such as vocational and academic programs, substance abuse treatment, self-help programs, Career Technical Education, pre-release guidance and community betterment projects. This office manages and provides oversight to all female programs, in addition to seven designated male and female institutions, fire camps and community programs.
The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The incumbent provides technical assistance and coordinates school health program activities with public health, social services, and environmental education agencies, and other public and private entities; researches, develops, and disseminates policies and procedures to enhance coordinated school health as described in the Health Framework for California Public Schools.
They stay current on research, educational trends, and policies pertaining to school nursing; act as the Division and CDE School Nurse lead; guide LEAs on coordinating school health programs; maintain program web pages; and disseminate best practices, resources, and guidance through newsletters, listservs, and social media. The position also builds collaborative partnerships with internal and external partners, including the Department of Health Care Services, Department of Public Health, California School Nurses Organization, and model LEAs, to support statewide implementation of school health programs.

The assignments may include weekend and/or overnight travel that may require an adjustment to the employee's work schedule. This position requires approximately 20% travel during the year. The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join their team at the Stabilization Training Assistance Reintegration (STAR) Acute Crisis Homes. As a member of the STAR team, you will work to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities during times of acute crisis. This role requires individuals who are passionate about person-centered care, and who are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities. STAR currently provides assistance to adolescents (11-17 years old) and adults (18 years of age and older) who are receiving regional center services. The STAR homes are four to five bed homes in community settings (Vacaville, Springville, and Costa Mesa).
As a member of the DDS STAR team, you will work in a community home setting where you will be responsible for assisting individuals with activities of daily living, providing emotional support, and promoting independence. Working Conditions

Must be able to drive up to 300 miles per day and travel to locations throughout Northern (for N. STAR) and Southern (for S. STAR) California. Travel may require over-night stays.

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST

Does spending your workday outdoors helping to restore and manage California's wetlands appeal to you? The Fish Restoration Program is seeking a motivated, self-starter to work as an Environmental Scientist. The Fish Restoration Program is part of an interagency group tasked with restoring 8,000 acres of tidal wetlands within the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The Environmental Scientist will work with program staff to manage tidal wetland habitats on restoration properties. This position will be responsible for implementing land management plans, on the ground land management, monitoring habitat response to management activities, maintaining equipment, planning and carrying out invasive species control, and reporting. The Environmental Scientist will also act as the lead person for Scientific Aides, mentor new program staff, and oversee contractors as needed.
This position offers the possibility of an office-centered telework agreement based on the Department's current Telework Policy.
In order to be eligible for this position, you must either be transfer eligible or take and pass the following exam.

Working Conditions
Work in inclement weather conditions, driving/operating boats and four-wheel drive vehicles on narrow levees and roads. Wearing a Department of Fish and Wildlife uniform may be required as a condition of employment while conducting field work and public work duties. This position is located at the Bay Delta Region office in Stockton, California.

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Bureau Director, the Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC) is assigned as the highest management level agent responsible for coordinating the operational and administrative activities of the various levels of staff and local, state, and/or federal law enforcement personnel. Manages and acts as a liaison with various departments and other state, local, and federal entities relative to the administrative and operational functions of the various Bureau of Investigation, Regional Offices. In addition, duties may include oversight for one or more of the following enforcement programs: Special Operations Unit (SOU), Inland Crackdown Allied (INCA) Task Force, Tax Recovery in the Underground Economy (TRUE) Task Force, Placer Special Investigation Unit (PSIU) Task Force, Eradication and Prevention of Illicit Cannabis (EPIC) Program, Controlled Chemical Substance Program (CCSP), Fentanyl Enforcement Program (FEP), White Collar Investigation Team (WCIT), Violent Crime Major Offender (VCMO) Program, Merced Area Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team (MAGNET), High Impact Investigation Team (HIIT), Recycle Fraud Team (RFT), Organized Retail Criminal Enterprise (ORCE), Foreign Prosecution and Law Enforcement Unit (FPLEU), Human Trafficking and Sexual Predator Apprehension Team (HT SPAT), San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force (SD HTTF), Law Enforcement Intelligence Unit (LEIU)(managerial oversight), Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC)(managerial oversight), and the Aviation Program.
