Pros of working at Calloway's Nursery

It can be a very nice place to work, especially for a person who likes to work with plants, flowers andcreation of visually expressive displays.

Cons of working at Calloway's Nursery

Calloway's and their muddle management care very little about the safety and comfort of their employees. Current temperatures are hovering near 100 degrees F, no rotation in and out of hot zones. Raises and cost of living increases are far and few between

Calloway's Nursery benefits

Some customers are a pleasure to deal with. Calloway's unrealistic and generous return policy allow customers to return plants in good condition. Employees are allowed to take these returns home and try to nurse them back to health.

What do you like best about Calloway's Nursery's CEO and the leadership team?

In person, they are very nice people. The philosophy towards customers is a lot more positive and forgiving than it is for the health and safety of their employees. From an air-condition office it is hard to evaluate the comfort of an employee who works in a 100 degree environment.

How would you improve Calloway's Nursery's culture?

I would pay attention to the needs of my employees. Many companies consider their employees their most important assets, Caloways is not one of them.

How did you prepare for the Calloway's Nursery interview?

I would respond to the question of the interviewer. I believe his/her decision is formed by the looks and age of the person inteviewed.

Compensation lags behind comparable jobs in the retail marked. After 14 years with the company, my wage is barely exceeding that of a new hired employee.

What's the diversity at Calloway's Nursery like?

The representation of diverse demographics is fair, assuming that management is satisfied with the individuals performannce.

When I am able to completely satisfy a customer and the customer is satisfied and compliments me on my work.

Pros of working at Calloway's Nursery

there are wonderful people here that care about plants. experts in their field. co-workers that you will appreciate knowing for the rest of your life.

Cons of working at Calloway's Nursery

everything else. management and upper management are stuck in the 1980's. they refuse to update or listen to ideas that will help improve business. pay raises are minimal to never. insurance is expensive, changes every 2 years, and doesnt work at most places. 401k is okay but not great. no maternity leave. no health leave. you can get accused of things you didnt do and written up for doing your job. its a miserable environment getting worse by the week.

Calloway's Nursery benefits

there are none

What do you like best about Calloway's Nursery's CEO and the leadership team?

nothing. the ceo has no idea whats going on and doesnt want to improve

below average

primarily white. very little cultural diversity
