The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline. **About the role** The Operations Technician is responsible for the overall safe operation, maintenance, and performance of a landfill gas to Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) processing facility. This position requires 25%-50% travel per month (First 12 months in the position will require 50% travel per month when hired nth when working at an existing plant or in year 2 and beyond for a new plant). **Key accountabilities** + Manage the safe operation of the plant during assigned shift in the most efficient and productive method to maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and prescribed safety and environmental standards. + Make periodic inspections of plant equipment to determine proper and normal operating conditions. Check and record operational data such as fluid levels, temperatures and pressures, compare to trends and have the ability to make corrections as needed. + Review daily operating reports and other records to ensure specified operating characteristics in control of the plant equipment. + Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on plant instrumentation and equipment. + Detect and correct faulty and malfunctioning mechanical and electrical components, devices and equipment. + Operate advanced instrumentation and process control systems. + Diagnose equipment malfunctions during emergencies and direct activities to restore normal operation or to shut down malfunctioning unit. + Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters. + Troubleshoot and repair electrical system wiring from control wiring up to 480 volts. Install, remove and modify equipment. + Notify Lead Operation Technician and Regional Manager of shutdown or major changes in power output of unit. + Maintain all plant equipment and structures in accordance with manufactures and Aria Energy guidelines. + Maintain a clean work space including the plant building, control room, rest room, break room and grounds. + Write routine reports and correspondence. + Maintain daily operation logs for shift in accordance with prescribed standards. + Assist in planning maintenance and outage activities. + Assist in defining, ordering and procuring all required parts. + Responds in a timely manner to callouts and work overtime as required. + Perform analytical tests as needed (i.e. PH, Conductivity, methane, H2S, moisture). + Implement all safety procedures to included lockout tag out procedures. + Perform all aspects of Hazardous waste handling and management in accordance with training. Performs all duties necessary to insure that the quality and quantity of service is maintained via proper operating conditions throughout the Building Utility area. Completes department training requirements, e.g., orientation, SOP, safety, etc. as direct by supervision. Attends and actively participates in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, Kaizen events, or any other operations, lean six-sigma, quality, safety or environmental training/initiative as required. Prepares and assists technicians, supervisors and planners in preparing labor and material estimates. Assists supervising with the assigning, scheduling and prioritization of work order requests using maintenance management system. Makes recommendations and prepares orders for spare parts, additional stock room items, tools, etc. Consults with Supervision and other mechanics on problem resolution/troubleshooting. Keeps Supervision informed of problem issues. Write, execute, and complete safety permits. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) And State Stationary Engineer Seal or equivalent certification OR 1. Graduation from a recognized/accredited trade school, community college, or equivalent programs with at least six (6) months full-time emphasis (5 hours/day x 5 days/week) in industrial power plant and refrigeration equipment operations (Power plant operation or HVAC) OR 2. Verified Military training equivalent to a recognized/accredited trade school program Desirable Courses in high purity water, cooling towers, water treatment, reverse osmosis, steam utilization. Required Experience and Skills: Three years recent (within last 7 years) full-time experience (6,000 hours) operating industrial power plant equipment and controls (examples include: chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and water treatment equipment). A basic understanding of chemical and water treatment and computer use is required. OR Three years recent (within the last 7 years) full-time military experience operating power plant equipment and controls. OR Held the position of Stationary Engineer with our company, West Point within the last seven years. Preferred Experience and Skills: Recent experience operating: Centrifugal chillers (electrical and turbine driven) greater than 600 tons Air compressors and desiccant air dryers greater than 250 cfm High purity (WFI and USP grade) water system equipment including reverse osmosis, deionization, vapor compression and multi-effect distillation units. Operational experience in the emergency/building electrical generators and hands-on experience with hazardous energy control (Lockout/Tagout) procedures. Special Skills or Abilities: Ability to analyze equipment and take appropriate corrective measures. Ability to read blueprints, control drawings, P&IDs, etc. Familiarization with valve, mechanical equipment, maintenance, and instrumentation and control procedures.
