    The Admission Nurse is responsible for timely pre-admission clinical review of potential patients, to include admission and re-admission screening tools, MARs and TARs, clinical and rehab notes, labs, and other necessary information. The clinical information will be provided through the regional care manager screens as well as electronic referral systems and hospital medical record. The Admission Nurse will work directly with the DON or designee when questions arise regarding clinical complexity. The Admission Nurse will work side by side and provide oversite of the Admission Coordinator to expedite admissions to the skilled facility, determine appropriate bed for admission, and to confirm admission details. Will communicate directly with Regional Care Managers and hospitals via phone, email and electronic referral system notes. Will follow patients re-admitted to hospital for appropriateness to return to facility. May assist as back up to Case Manager for vacation or sick coverage. The Admission Nurse is a Department Head position, and ultimately responsible for the running of the Admission Office and its staff. Experience: Minimum one year experience in Admissions, long-term care and/or sub acute care. Knowledge of ventilator and dialysis care preferred. Design, develop, implement and manage security policies, procedures and recommendations. Identify, manage and supervise qualified vendors to provide safety and security services (e.g., electronic and physical security) in alignment with security/threat assessments, operational capabilities, and organizational key results. Formulate annual budget and monitor and manage actual expenses to budget. Serve as point-of-contact for security concerns to federal, state and local law enforcement and emergency management agencies, as well as other stakeholder organizations (e.g., Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, Congregation B'nai Israel, Jewish campus organizations, etc.) Respond to onsite emergencies. Work collaboratively with other CESLC associates to identify and secure grant funding opportunities and awards for safety and security planning, training and enhancements.
