While at Kent County Memorial Hospital I was part of a team that redesigned the delivery of care. By using the Rapid Assessment Model in the Kent Hospital Emergency Room, it removed the bottleneck of triage and created access to ED providers. As a result, patient satisfaction has dramatically increased including a Press Ganey Award for statistically relevant increases, LWBS rates are below the national benchmark, volume has increased by 10%, and Kent Hospital has become the first hospital in Rhode Island to create a policy that eliminates ambulance diversion. Door to Doctor times have decreased to under 30 minutes and average turn around time for all patients has decreased by over two hours since implementation.
